Kilbride Beach Cottage is a short stroll to the beach, and the cottage dates back to 1909, and has been renovated and extended to offer the most comfortable and luxurious accommodation. The cottage is stylishly furnished and equipped to make the most of all the comforts and necessities you may require. The owners have been born and brought up in this Gaelic speaking community, and you’ll know doubt pick up at least a few phrases by the end of your visit. The owners aim to respect privacy yet are on hand to meet all your needs. The cottage is on a working croft which you are welcome to take interest in, you will find sheep, lambs, ducks, hens and chickens all close by.

The archipelago off the islands are all linked by causeways, so travelling between them all is so easy. Guests can take the ferry across to Barra for day trips, with boat trips out to St Kilda and the Monarch Isles. The area has so much heritage; Kildonan Centre is a heritage and cultural facility which includes a museum, craft shop, cafe and an archaeology room. You will see some of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s hiding places, the princes cockle stand in Eriskay and Flora MacDonald’s birthplace at Milton South Uist, who helped him with his escape. The SS Politician run aground off the east side of Eriskay carrying 21,000 cases of malt whiskey. The remains of the wreck can still be made out at low tide near Calvey Island. The film ’Whiskey Galore’ was based on the story of the politician. Askernish Golf Course designed by the renowned Tom Morris is only a short drive away. Kilbride Beach Cottage offers a truly ‘get away from it all’ experience. Wonderful scenery, sandy beaches and dunes, moorland, hills and machair, turquoise blue waters, the dark blue lochs with white water lillies, and the sunrises and sunsets will amaze you, so come, explore and enjoy.
