About this cottage rental
On a clear day you have a spectacular view of the Outer Hebrides, and the night sky takes your breath away, as you are covered by a blanket of stars. Just a short distance from the photographers favourite, the Neist Point Lighthouse (Britain's highest cliff walk). The Crofter's cottage is over 100 years old, and has been newly refurbished to a high standard in a way that has retained its original charm and appeal. It still remains in the same family that built it, being passed down from generation to generation. An Creagan is a 10 min drive from the world famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a 15 min drive from Dunvegan, and a 50 min drive from Portree. There is a local Post Office/ Shop and Tea Room approx 1 mile from the cottage. An Creagan is part of Isle of Skye Retreats, and the cottage can very comfortably accommodate four guests within its two generously proportioned bedrooms. Unfortunately, the cottage is not suitable for small children. We allow children from 6 years plus stay at An Creagan. The upstairs has a king-size bedroom and the second bedroom has two singles. All bedrooms have black-out curtains with Harris Tweed furnishings and high quality 100% cotton sheets. All the bedding is hypoallergenic (duvets are "all season" double layered). The main bathroom upstairs has an over-shower bath and under-floor heating. There is an extendable dining table in the living room (no separate dining room), and there is also an extendable table in the porch, where you can just sit, relax and watch the sea-eagles from the window. In common with most cottages of that period and style, the ceilings are low in places, so please mind your head, especially when climbing the stairs! There is ample parking and a large fenced garden area with outdoor seating and a BBQ for guests to use. The multi-fuel stove and under-floor heating add a cosy feel to the cottage for relaxed evenings in. There is easy to manage electric heating throughout the cottage. There is Wi-Fi for guests to use, and also Freesat satellite channels on TVs in the living room and master bedroom. An i-pod docking station/radio/CD and DVD player is available at the cottage . The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you will need for your stay, including washing machine, dishwasher, oven fridge freezer, microwave and refrigerated wine cooler. Guests can also access the Hay Loft (the upstairs area of the barn. This is ideal for walkers and cyclists to store and dry items. The cottage itself is only a short 5-10 min walk from Meanish Pier, so it is easily accessible for those who like to go boating or fishing. Whether you are visiting the enchanted Island for the wildlife, arts, photography, walking, boating or cycling, you will not be disappointed by this inspirational location.

6.0 / 10.0
The house was comfortable and clean though decor very dark, and a nice welcome pack appreciated. The kitchen a bit dated and basically equipped. But our biggest disappointment was that although the property was advertised as dog friendly there was no gate, and allowed sheep to roam the garden, so our dog had to be taken out there on her lead, the road in that area bumpy and potholed and became very busy as near to Neist Point, we left early but mainly because of bad weather.

We are part of Clan Macleod so have made it a point to try and find vacation spots on the western side of Skye. This home was absolutely perfect! It is so well done, and was a great place to tuck in on a rainy day. While the sun was shining, the views captivate you and instantly relax you.
Location is perfect and I couldn’t ask for better things nearby. You can get everything you need at the Glendale store. Three chimneys is only a few miles away and you can’t do better for food and service!
I will say the beds are a little older…made for a tough night but with the breeze blowing in the room it was easy to sleep.
This was the ideal vacation, at a beautiful home with a fantastic host. Thank you for all you’ve done to make this a special destination vacation.

We stayed in this charming cottage for two weeks. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful, out of the way retreat to ease into our retirement. This fit the bill perfectly, within walking distance of the water and a quick drive into the cafe. The cottage itself was outfitted beautifully with everything we could possibly need. Having a clothes washing machine was a great bonus. Communication with the host was easy and responses were very quick. I highly recommend beautiful An Creagan for a stay on Skye.

The cottage sits, elevated from the road, with spectacular views. A traditional croft cottage. Booking process was so easy, with updates from owner, as required. Instructions supplied before arrival were clear and accurate. The cottage was spotless on arrival, it is so well equipped, with everything you need and all in good condition. The welcome packs for ourselves and our dog were very much appreciated. We had a superb holiday and cannot wait to get back.

We were looking for a quiet, cozy week away on Skye, taking in the stunningly beautiful nature--hills, ocean, sheep, etc. We found all of that at Ann's cottage in Milovaig or close by.
The house itself is great, top-notch renovation of an old farmhouse with a well-equipped kitchen, modern radiators and underfloor heating, and all sorts of other ameneties.
Would love to come back!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. Everything was well stocked and so clean when we arrived. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of sheep heading into the fields. The views from the front of the cottage were amazing. It was really a relaxing time on Skye.

Even without the sunshine we had such a lovely week at the cottage - the inclement weather being a great excuse just to enjoy the fire.
This wee gem of a place is so well equipped that you need only arrive with the clothes on your back - even our greyhound Shedfield, wanted for nothing!
We’ll definitely be back.

Just about perfect!
Just about perfect!
We feel so fortunate to have spent eight nights in this wonderfully situated and equipped cottage! From the outside it's a delightful and utterly typical croft but inside it's been renovated to an exceptionally high standard with a tidy and efficient kitchen fitted with quality appliances and lacking nothing to prepare meals. There's even temperature controlled wine storage. One night we bought scallops from divers down at the pier. Almost daily we enjoyed cappuccino just a mile away at Cafe Lephin. Across from the cafe is the Glendale General Store, with almost everything you might need, though we we happy we stocked up at the Coop in Portree. One of Scotland's best restaurants, Three Chimneys is 3 miles away. The Neist Lighthouse, one of Skye favorite sights is also a couple of miles away. Yes, there are places even a short person can bump a head and the decor is rather dark and formal for my taste but the internet is excellent, the lighting good, it's spotlessly clean and the outlook, filled with gamboling lambs when we were there, is unforgettable.

Cosy hideaway

The cottage was immaculately clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Location great if you want to get away from it all. The headroom in the upstairs bathroom and on the stairs is very restricted so if you’re on the tall side it’s maybe not for you. However, it didn’t spoil our enjoyment and the most generous welcome pack was hugely appreciated. An excellent stay, thank you!

A beautiful old cottage that has been restored to high standard without loosing its charm. There isn’t anything that the host has overlooked at this cottage. Very well equipped, beds you just don’t want to get out of, crisp white linen, soft towels, lovely toiletries, beautiful views over the loch. We just couldn’t find a single fault with this property. Before having a dog ourselves, we would never book a ‘dog friendly ‘ cottage, as alway thought there would be signs that a dog had been there! How wrong were we? The cleaner needs more than five stars here. Only one very small point to note if you have a dog who is not used to sheep, check the garden before you let them out of cottage. Although the garden is secure the entrance is via a cattle grid and the sheep know how to jump over it, so sneak in when you are not around!

We had a great time at An Creagan. It is a beautifully renovated cottage with a marvellous view. Ann was a great host, whatever our request, she (and her kind uncle) were always right on our side! Thoroughly recommend.

A beautiful cottage renovated to a high specification with absolutely everything you might need. Nestled into the hillside overlooking the ocean yet close enough to some of the best restaurants and cafes Skye has to offer while out of the way enough to enjoy the splendour of the area - on a clear day the outer Hebrides can easily be seen and the night sky will take your breath away. We’ll definitely book again.

Best cottage you could wish for
Best cottage you could wish for
This cottage is the best choice for a lovely holiday on the Isle of Skye. The quiet location is a real ‘recharge batteries’ place with stunning views to enjoy. The cottage is perfectly equipped with everything you need, very functional and high standards in everything from bed lining to furniture, very unique for a holiday cottage. It has a very cosy atmosphere and when you enjoy your glass of Whiskey in front of the fire place in the evening, it makes the day complete. The owner is very special too, reacting promptly to all inquiries and greeting you with a lovely welcome package. Overall you feel her caring, personal touch in every corner of the cottage, from great movies choices to interesting games and you’ll want is to come back as soon as possible.

Classic Skye cottage
Classic Skye cottage
Classic Skye crafters cottage. Had all necessary info in advance and no difficulty finding the property. Well appointed, very well kitted galley kitchen with very generous welcome gifts and outstanding kitchen necessities. Loads of DVDs for bad weather, we were lucky enough to get out each day. Lots to do in the area, but often in Skye that can mean a reasonable drive. Bedrooms very nice and log/coal fire very cosy with generous stores in place. Our only issue was that we had little control over the heating and one bath used all the hot water, though the downstairs shower was on a separate electric system.

Location! Location! Location!!
Location! Location! Location!!
I had the privilege of spending 6 months in this warm, cosy cottage. It is one of the best equipped places I have ever stayed in! The view from the cottage of Loch Pooltiel and Dunvegan Point is breathtaking and, in my opinion, unmatched anywhere else in the community. I used the cottage as a base to explore the Isle of Skye (and some of the mainland) with visiting family and friends. It’s perfect place to relax after a hectic day of sightseeing or to unwind from a busy work / family life. I recommend sitting outside gazing at the stars. They can seem so bright that you can reach out and touch them. An Creagan is a very special place in a special community. If it's available to rent, I highly recommend it!

Tucked-away, cozy cottage!
Lovely location to relax and unwind on the Isle of Skye! Remote enough to enjoy the getaway but not too distant from main roads or little convenience shops. The interior is cozy, well-maintained, supplying everything needed! Great views and peaceful sheep neighbors! Ideal for those self-sufficient who want to, at least momentarily, escape the turbulence of modern city life!

A wonderful and comfortable cottage
An Creagan is a beautiful cottage with a perfect location for exploring the stunning Isle of Skye. It was easy to explore the surroundings from An Creagan, and there were so many more or less challenging walks just nearby. The Milovaig - Neist point coastal clifftop walk provided many amazing and dramatic views. as did climbing the MacLeods table. The Three Chimneys restaurant is also highly recommended. The cottage was well equipped and the beds were very comfy.

Beautiful cottage on the edge of the sea
Beautiful cottage on the edge of the sea
We loved our stay at An Creagan - Isle of Skye is rugged and full of nature and An Creagan was a wonderful base from which to explore the island. The property is perched on the edge of the sea with amazing views across the bay and out to the outer islands. There was ample wildlife in the area including seals in the bay which we watched from the house. The fully updated house (originally from 1900!) was warm, spotlessly clean, and tastefully simple. We had everything we needed to be comfortable for our family of four for a week, and the local goodies upon our welcome were enjoyed by all. Ann was very easy to work with and very responsive to questions. We also loved the cafe in Glendale just down the road - lovely food and quite affordable. I highly recommend An Creagan and hope to return someday.
