Atlantic House is a delightful, spacious, detached property, set amidst the owner’s 17th-century working farm at Blegberry. Beautifully converted from a former barn, this stunning property retains plenty of character with beams, stone walls and feature floors and is presented to a very high standard. The large, superb open plan kitchen/dining/living room takes up the main wing of the property and makes for the perfect gathering of family and friends to enjoy time together whilst taking full advantage of the views. Outside, the sunny patio is the ideal spot to relax watching the waves and spectacular sunsets. The property also has a large courtyard garden, ideal for al fresco dining, and the raised decked area and hot tub add the finishing touches for a holiday to remember. A delightful welcome pack awaits you on your arrival.

The magnificent rugged English Heritage coastline of Hartland and beyond runs across the farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a perfect haven for walking and bird watching or just to get away from the hustle of every day life. From your doorstep, meander down the track and through the cornfield to the secluded Berry Beach. With its sandy gullies and shingle beach, you can while away the days here, rock pooling, boogie boarding, fishing or just relaxing with a good book. There are many circular walks through leafy green lanes, ancient woodland footpaths, bridleways and the South West Coastal Path. You can take in sights such as Hartland Point Lighthouse, Damehole Point, where the final scene of the film ’King Arthur’ was shot starring Kiera Knightley and Clive Owen, Berry Head and Blackpool Mill, where much of the BBC series ’Sense and Sensibility’ was filmed. A 40-minute walk from Blegberry along the coast path will take you to Hartland Quay, with its Maritime Museum, gift shop and pub, family friendly beach and breathtaking views. Why not enjoy a traditional pub lunch and a pint and then meander your way back through the beautiful ancient abbey woods.

Children will love the donkeys Margot, Mavis and Elvis they are a favourite with visitors to Blegberry. There is also a large playing field, and everyone will have fun in the indoor play barn complete with skittle alley, table tennis and pool table, as well as a play area for the little ones. The famous sandy surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Bude are an easy drive and for family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Clovelly, with its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque harbour, is a must. The village of Hartland is just 3 miles and has a good selection of village shops and pubs, all serving local produce. The new film The Salt Path starring Gillian Anderson was partly filmed here. The historic port of Bideford, with its lively market, as well as the Lundy Island ferry and array of shops and other amenities, is just 15 miles. Golf, fishing, sailing, surfing and horse riding available locally. Shops 3 miles, pub 2 miles.

Good property location but be aware quite remote.
Good property location but be aware quite remote.
Good property location but be aware quite remote. Would recommend the following enhancements: - Leave more logs and lighters/lighter fluid for wood burner for new guests - Given how dark and remote it is, leave lights on for late arriving guests (after 5 pm is requested by owner) - Christmas tree lights didn't work so perhaps test before each guest - Would recommend using local produce if leaving welcome gift for guests - Leave food waste bin outside as when the inside one is full you have nowhere to put the waste - Leave more hand wash for incoming guests - Leave welcome instructions for use of hot tub clear and part of the general welcome bundle These are intended to be fair but constructive feedback as the stay was awesome and the farmer who owns the property as lovely. Would very much recommend! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Some of the markings were down due to equipment being missing because of pandemic. Cleanliness generally good but some evidence of previous occupants found under a couple of beds which, during a pandemic, was not too good. Neither of the jacuzzi baths worked ☹️. However we had a great time here and would return. Horton was fantastic  Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We really did have a lovely few days at Atlantic house. It was wonderfully spacious and clean. Hot tub very nice and great views from the house and garden towards the sea. Great location for walkers. Our grown up children did grumble a little at the fact that you have to drive for 30 mins to get to Bude (which is lovely) to surf. Beaches near Atlantic House are small and pebbly but very dramatic and beautiful. House facilities excellent except for tumble dryer which didn't dry too well - so maybe needs looking at. A little disappointed that the owners didn't come to say Hi whilst we were there. But in all, liked it and would go again.

This was an amazing find.
This was an amazing find.
This was an amazing find. The views were incredible. The farm itself had everything possible from a donkey duck pond chickens etc and a play area with trampoline to swings slide and an indoor skittle alley table tennis and pool table and kids area. So perfect for children. The house layout work perfect for us with 3 doubles with en-suite downstairs away from the living area and two bedrooms upstairs for the children . The kitchen and living room were beautiful with ample seating in and outside. The back garden had the most amazing views and a great place to sit and watch the sunset . Would love to stay here at Xmas.

Overall we had a wonderful family holiday here.

Overall we had a wonderful family holiday here. The location is very remote which we wanted but half-day trips to Bude and Clovelly were very easily achieved.Bedrooms were all great, plenty of living/dining room for all 12 of us. Good games room with nice equipment all in working order and very clean and nice outdoor play area for the kids. Small negative -tea towels need upgrading! Also, we used the hot tub sparingly as it was very noisy (loud screeching and we were concerned there was a problem. The Hart Inn in nearby Hartland is a brilliant pub which is owned by the same people (Laura was very helpful). Would definitely recommend for a family break -we were aged 66 years down to 7 months and ALL of us had a brilliant, memorable weekend.

Stunning cottage in a gorgeous setting! You might be in the middle of nowhere, but this adds to the charm. Any issues were sorted quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Only recommendation would be to fence off part off the grassed area of the cottage so you can sit out the back and enjoy the views with the dogs being secure. Would definitely go back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
