About this cottage rental

Great 180 degree Views of Southern Puget Sound from Southern Vashon Island. Tacoma city and Commencement Bay night light views and during the day includes views of Mount Rainier and Point Defiance. The home is a cozy 1 bedroom with a king size bed, 1 bath with a shower and unique 1/2 size bathtub. The views are amazing from the bedroom, kitchen and living area. At high tide you feel like you are on a boat. Access to our private boat ramp for kayak, SUP, or other small watercraft. Come enjoy being on the water!

Buoy use is based on availability. Up to a 30 foot boat.

My husband, our two kids, and I spent a wonderful weekend here exploring Vashon Island. This place is beautiful, and perfect for relaxing. We loved sitting on the deck, watching the tide and spotting wildlife. I highly recommend it for a relaxing family getaway with older kids.

If I could give it more stars, I would. This lovely cottage is clean and comfortable and offers everything you need to enjoy a waterfront experience. The views are spectacular and we saw all kinds of wildlife right from the deck. An eagle, otters, seals, dolphins, herons and more. Amazing. We hope to return someday.

This lovely place sits On the water and has views of Mt. Rainier from every room. We had a wonderful peaceful stay and would certainly be back! If you are a water-sports fan the private dock, canoe and paddle boards will make you happy!

Clam Cottage was our home for 10 weeks this summer and the experience was amazing. The location has incredible views of Mt. Rainier, Point Ruston, and easy ferry access to Tacoma and Seattle. The Cottage is right on the water making it easy to kayak, paddle board, and enjoy the sea life every day (seals, otters, porpoises, eagles, etc.). The Cottage has a large deck with lots of seating options, the inside includes all the basic amenities. The property owner is very friendly and responded quickly to any questions/needs/etc. We highly recommend staying at Clam Cottage for short or long term stays, we made many fabulous memories!

Our stay was even more amazing than imagined! Clam cove cottage exceed all of our expectations. The view and location are amazing and the owners have thought of everything for guests during their stays. The entire property is so clean and well kept. This is a really cute cottage right on the water with things happening all the time right in front of you-wildlife, seals, otters, etc-and watching the ferry crossing. It is a delightful place to stay and the owners make it like your home, having stocked things that you commonly use for cooking, etc and good cooking pots and pans and dishes-as well as other things that make your stay so enjoyable.. It is really a lovely 'deal' given what is charged to rent there and what you get out of the experience. We would highly recommend it to people and have rented it a number of times for family and friends-which means we also get to enjoy the deck on the water with them!

If you are looking for someplace to sit and watch the world go by, this is for you. The cabin is well-appointed and cute as a button! The view, though, that is what drew us to the property. Great Getaway

Great Getaway

It was such a pleasure staying here in September. The place was right on the water, with a great deck and view. The first night, we got to experience a storm with thunder and lightning, and waves crashing which was an exciting experience! The next couple days were calm and we had a perfect view of Mt. Rainier and Tacoma. The ferry was a pleasure to watch and beachcombing with our dog was a perk that we don't get at home. We made our meals in the kitchen that was fully stocked. There is even a washer and dryer. The little stove fireplace made the home very cozy. The bed was comfortable. We got to meet some neighbors that were a pleasure to talk to. We will be back!

I’ve stayed at a lot of homes in the puget sound. This had the most magnificent view of any. Rainier, ferry, 220 degrees of water and wildlife. What’s more, it was the most seamless and painless check in and check out in recent memory. Lovely and pleasant interior and huge balcony. Bravo.

This property was literally right on the water. When the tide is in you really do feel like you are on a houseboat! I didn’t bring my pet but this place seemed very pet friendly. Even though it was very cold outside the wood stove kept us very warm and cozy. Can’t wait to spend time here in the summer!

It was a real challenge for us trying to find the cottage. We drove down to the bulkhead and still didn't see it. We ended up going down two other driveways and had to call Lance. Thank heavens he picked up! We found Clam Cove Cottage and it's really a little gem. It's all been updated, the bed is enormous and comfortable, great views of the ferries docking and leaving. We loved seeing all the wildlife: a seal (?) patrolling back and forth in the water, two herons patiently fishing, a chipmunk on the deck, deer grazing on the neighbors' property. (But there was also wildlife inside: ants, and they were tiny but a bit annoying. Hopefully, Lance, you'll make them go away.) I especially appreciated the huge windows that were sparkling clean inside and out, as well as having a stove, washer and dryer, fridge and separate freezer, good ventilation. There was a spectacular lightning storm Saturday night so we turned off all the lights and enjoyed the show. Such a lovely little place to stay for a long weekend. I'd definitely stay here again.

This was perfect for me as I was attendIng a wedding on Vashon. A large group of friends stayed at the large house and I rented the small house. I could go hang with them, and have my quiet time when I wanted. Right in the water with lots of windows. Kayaking and paddle boarding was a blast. Everything I needed was there. Communication with the owner was easy and friendly. He was extra kind and patient as this was my first VRBO. It won’t be my last!!

We had a get trip. the property was in great shape other than the little sugar ants. We used the BBQ the fire pit and enjoyed the view. we would stay again. Thank you to the great hosts!!!!
