We stayed at the Yellow Dog Retreat for my sister's bachelorette weekend get-away. Our stay was absolutely perfect - the house and property are beautiful and we had everything we needed and more!! Jeremy and Chelsey provided us with a bunch of tips as far as their favorite local bars and wineries and entertainment at each for the weekend. The property is right down the road from several wineries and only a 15 minute drive to the strip in Geneva - a very convenient location! We also had the pleasure of meeting the dogs, Eddie and Brucey, and enjoyed all of the pictures of them throughout the house. Would absolutely stay here again in the future!

Very clean and nicely decorated! Owner very fast at communication. The only con of this house is 1 of bathrooms is on the ground floor where you enter the house at mudroom. Then you go up to main floor with kitchen/dining room and living room and 1 bedroom. Then up a flight of stairs to 3rd floor with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Then up another flight (4th floor) with 3 more bedrooms. Lots of stairs for getting to a bathroom for most of the bedrooms. Hard for older people and someone with MS.

I wish I could give the owners and their property more than 5 stars! The house was beautiful, comfortable and had everything that we needed. The outside deck had a beautiful view and felt very private and comfortable. Jeremy checked on us everyday and their dogs baited daily as well - we enjoyed that so much! The house is located near so many beautiful wineries and only 15 minutes from Geneva on the Lake. I would recommend this property and owners to anyone thinking of visiting that area of Ohio and will definitely return!

This property couldn’t be better! The house was spotless, the decor charming and the outside, between the covered and uncovered deck, as well as a huge fire pit was beautiful! I've stayed in many places around Geneva on the Lake, this has beeny favorite. House was clean, beds were comfy, kitchen had everything you needed. The porch had tons of seating and the fire pit was well done with lots of seats and outdoor lighting. If there was any downside at all, be aware there are steps into the main area and bedrooms if steps are a problem for you. If not..... It's a perfect vacation location.

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday with her family, and we had wonderful experience. Weather was not too great during our visit but the backyard setup with bonfire and lighting made it easy to fall in love with this lovely property. Also, Jeremy and his yellow fur baby Eddie are the great host. Great communication and great hospitality. We would recommend to anyone who is looking for cute stay nearby Geneva on the lake wineries and enjoy family/friends gatherings.

Yellow Dog Retreat and the Grand River Valley is a hidden gem treat on the road between Midwest colleges (Marquette, Wisconsin, Michigan, Chicago, Notre Dame, Northwestern) and the east coast. We had a great time unwinding on the way home from college off at the many lovely vineyards in the area. The house is spotless and beautifully maintained. The back deck is extremely pleasant for relaxing with lots of space to read a book or enjoy a meal. Jeremy and Chelsea are experienced and thoughtful hosts who run a great show!

Very nice renovation in the heart of vineyard country. We had 5 adults and a dog, and two more adults joined us for an overnight stay, accommodations were very comfortable. Outdoor patios are huge with plenty of seating and also a big outdoor firepit area. 5 minute car ride from all the wineries, many of them right down the street. Owners live nearby and were friendly, hospitable and genuinely cared about our stay and accommodations. We've rented a lot of condo's and vacation homes and this one is very well stocked with everything you need. No running to the big box store for households items, just bring food and you are all set. Thanks for a wonderful time.

The most personable hosts we have ever had! Overall, we had a great experience at Yellow Dog Retreat. We had 7 adults and 3 children in our party and had enough space for all of us. The best parts of our stay: -Excellent outdoor space, deck and fire pit -Close to restaurants, wineries, grocery stores, etc -Very clean and well taken care of property Things to consider: -The water on the property is "hard," so a water cooler is on the property. If your group drinks a lot of water, you may want to consider bringing some bottled water with you -If your party is large, you may want to reuse bath towels and washcloths as there is not a washer/dryer on the property (there is a laundromat close by) -Some areas of the house can get hot in the summer (most rooms have window air conditioners, but not all) Overall we had a great time and would book again!

Jeremy and his wife were the perfect host. Place was very clean and filled with special touches! Location was perfect for adult groups who wanted to visit local wineries. There are at least 10 wineries within 2 miles. There was a board with updated local music and wineries in the entryway. The decks were immense, shaded, and filled with a nice breeze! A large grill , several porch heaters, and fire pit completed the area. This was are 2nd stay and we will be back

We booked yellow dog retreat for my cousins bachelorette weekend- our expectations were super exceeded!! The pictures online do not do this place justice. First of all, Jeremy is the most accommodating host I’ve ever dealt with. The hospitality is unmatched- he checked in with us multiple times to be sure we were always taken care of. He took care of our garbage, always refilled the tiki fluid around the fire, and even started our fire the first night when we were struggling! The rental is very clean and is the coziest place, and accommodated the 8 of us perfectly! We never felt crowded. And let’s not forget our favorite part- the yellow dogs Eddie and Brucey! We loved getting visits from the dogs. The fire pit area was our favorite and we spent every night out there. The view of the sunsets from there and the deck are beautiful. The place is perfectly located to everything- we were a 15 minute drive to the strip and not much further we visited town (the harbor). And there are so so many wineries nearby! We did a wine tour on Saturday and each winery was a super quick drive. The best part? If you’ve had one too many, you can literally walk 5 mins through a trail in the backyard to Baci Winery, which we recommend! You even get a nice view of this winery and their vineyards from the back deck :) Overall- we can’t wait to get back to this place. If you’re considering, book now!!

We rented this house to celebrate an upcoming wedding for my best friend. From the time we booked this property to the day we checked out, Jeremy and his wife were absolutely amazing to work with! The pictures do not do this house justice. It is so much better than we had expected. The location was spot on with more wineries in a 3mile radius than you’d ever expect! This property is HIGHLY reccomended, you will not be disappointed. We also enjoyed the visits from two wonderful yellow dogs, Brucey and Eddie! We will be back!

Staying at the Yellow Dog Retreat is like no other rental we have experienced. First, the hospitality is fantastic. The owners are easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Second, the house is beautiful, pictures do little justice. Perfectly farmhouse, rustic & decorated with adorable antiques! Perfect little touches throughout. Retreat is truly the best description. You can easily stock up on food, drinks and never leave the property. They have all of the comforts of home in addition to an amazing deck & outdoor fire pit! If the weather would have cooperated more I feel I could have slept outside. When the rain took over we just moved under the covered side of the deck where they provide a gas grill, electric heaters & gas/stone fire column. On dry nights we sat under the stars & enjoyed a blazing fire & S'mores. Remember to bring or pick up some wood in town! If you plan to go out they provide a white board by the door with local bars and restaurants with live music listed for you to check out. Despite the amount of food & supplies we brought we used less than expected. We really enjoyed our time checking out the wineries, Luisa's Mexican Grill & a couple of great diners. What an amazing weekend to escape, unwind & recharge. Honestly, they could charge extra for the dog therapy. We absolutely loved the visits & snuggles with the yellow dogs! Thank you again for a wonderful retreat!
