About this house rental

Stay at The Chapel: Ashtabula County’s most unique lodging experience! This former 20th century church has been renovated into to a huge luxurious 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home that sleeps up to 12 guests. Inside you will find original touches paying tribute to the former church including cathedral ceilings featuring original wooden beams.

Featuring 5 spacious bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, a beautiful brand-new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a full-size washer and dryer, I know you'll feel comfortable and right at home.

*This is a bi-level home with stairs to access both main living areas*

The main floor:

This rental is complete with self-check-in, Wi-Fi, Roku TVs ALL with Hulu Live, Disney+ and ESPN+, and central AC and heating.

Outside:

❄️ Our patios are "winterized" during the cold and snowy months. Typically ranging from November-March. Access to the patio furniture may be limited during these times and are open during the warmer summer/fall months.

☀️ Summer is a busy season for the Ashtabula County with most adventures, shops, and restaurants in full swing. During fall and winter seasons, some attractions and restaurants do limit their hours or close completely so please plan your adventures in advance so you may have the best experience!

🚖 There is not much from Uber or Lyft in the area. All guests receive 20% off GoGeneva Transportation services when picked up from my property. Private tours are available as well as taxi services to visit local attractions and wineries.

This was the most unique house we have ever rented and we will talk about it for years. We were in town for a family funeral and even brought other family over to share the charm with them, they loved it as well! Something very special for us was when we realized our loved one was to be buried in the cemetery we could see from the house.

Check in was a breeze. The house had everything we needed and had lots of towels which was a plus. The fire pit area was a great place to hang out and we all liked to congregate in the kitchen and living room area. Only thing I would change is that I wish there were more towel racks in the bathroom however and at least 2-ply toilet paper and paper towels.

Overall as a group of 4 adult couples we had a good time. House was overall clean but couch is quite worn and ALL the knifes are so dull that there were many things we didn't even try to cut up. The neighborhood location is just ok but Geneva on the Lake was close and Ashtabula has some good eateries. I would recommend but bring our own knives!

My family and friends absolutely loved this rental! The beds were so comfy, the Bluetooth vent speakers in the bathrooms were amazing, and we loved all the bedrooms and bathrooms! Plenty of places to hangout and enjoy the space! Will definitely stay here again. Thank you to the host for answering all my questions

The property itself quite frankly is amazing. Hard to describe the uniqueness and space that was available for everyone. The beach is a short drive (approximately 5 minutes) from the property. Also Maple Ridge Golf Course is 12 minutes away which was convenient for some of us to get in a couple rounds. Couple things about the beach:1. Was plenty of beach and clean.2. Recommend water shoes or crocs when walking to the water as there are some rocks you have to walk over when entering Lake Erie and continues to about 5-10 yards into the water before it’s sand. 3. There are limited concessions at the beach so maybe pack snacks or cooler. I can say all in all was a great trip and look forward to going again next year.

Lots of room in this modern, comfortable stay. The kids appreciated the space downstairs, with bedrooms and a sitting space, as did the adults! Kitchen stocked with the dishes etc needed. Flawless check-in. And the showers truly notable for their power and temp - felt like a mini spa!

We were a little concerned about the neighborhood initially, but it was convenient to much of what we wanted to do and it was the perfect size property for our family. Although we may never make it back to Ashtabula, we would stay here again if we did.

We visited 7 wineries and enjoy much needed family time. The Chapel was a beautiful place with plenty of room for us. It definitely had everything you need it. The only thing was the checkout at 10 o’clock was a little hard when you spent the weekend at the wineries but we made it work. Definitely stay there again.

I came to this property with 4 kids and 7 adults. We always vacation together and sometimes it's hard to find a place that has something for everyone, but not this property. I loved the location, Just 15 minutes away from Geneva on the Lake (and much cheaper than staying there) and about the same amount of time to Walmart and many restaurants in Ashtabula. There is a gas station 2 minutes away and a Dollar General 5 minutes away. All places that come in clutch on a vacation. The cemetery across the street is a beautiful and peaceful place to walk your dog (which are allowed.) There is a park nearby and several beautiful areas to observe nature. The property is awesome! The eat in kitchen is has a huge island perfect for adults to gather and cook. There is a 8 person table to have family meals and play games. With an open floor plan, the huge sectional is just off the kitchen allowing everyone to be together and separate at the same time. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. All the showers are rain showers with lighting and the ability to pair your phone with the speakers in the showers. The basement is perfect for kids with a few arcade games and a couch, plus a huge soaking tub and double showers perfect for bathing several people or just allowing the kids to play in the water and cool down. There are 7 tv's allowing everyone to watch whatever they want and have its the ability to connect several game systems. We loved it!

Kitchen was well supplied, beds were comfortable, had a living room that comfortably fit all of us, had a dining room table that was large enough for game night. This property is everything the listing claims to be. It was incredibly clean, spacious, and cozy. There was plenty of room to move around and the layout was perfect for gathering. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, the frying pans need some love, but the rest of the kitchen is flawless. From the abundance of gorgeous dishes to every needed utensil, to the quality appliances, this is the perfect VRBO for any group. We would absolutely stay again. Well done, hosts!

The kitchen was very poorly equipped. Lots of dishes but minimal silverware. No serving bowls or utensils. Knives were dull, not appropriate for food preparation, and not even a paring knife. There was only one large pot and it and all of the skillets were thin and scratched, cheap aluminum. Part of the fun when our group goes away is cooking meals together. Thank goodness we are a resourceful group. Couldn’t believe there were only 2 dishwasher pods for a 4 day rental. Really cheap.

Our group of 9 (5 adults and 4 teens) had a terrific time at this property! It was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well-appointed, the rooms and common areas were spacious. The downstairs rooms and games area were perfect for our teens to feel like they had a space of their own. The unique design was very sleek and cool, but also welcoming. There’s plenty of parking, a small park-sized charcoal grill that did the job for our big group, and lots of bathrooms. Great to have central A/C, lots of TVs and Rokus. Note to potential non-religious or non-Christian travelers: You’re clearly staying in a converted chapel (hence the name) and there is definitely a lot of Christian-themed decor (ie, biblical sayings and crosses posted on walls, nods to Jesus and God, and being “chosen,” etc, in each room). We are a mixed denominational family and after a quick group check, we still felt comfortable enough to stay — nothing felt overly-intrusive, but is definitely present. The host was very gracious and we would definitely return!

The house was in wonderful condition and as nice (if not better) than the pictures show. Very modern feel with the uniqueness of being a former small church/chapel. The openness of the main room makes for a nice setting of being part of everything going on in the living room, kitchen and dinning area. There were smart TVs in every bedroom and the showers had blue tooth compatible speakers (a nice touch!). The wifi/internet went out one morning which the manager was quick to address (thanks Rebekah!). The place is easily a "recommended stay" - which we are glad we booked.

Spacious home, we all had a great time sitting at the dining table playing board games and sitting around in the living room area visiting. great appliances for cooking and dishwasher worked great. Washers and dryers had plenty of room to wash our bath towels and the kitchen towels. Parks close by for hiking.

This property was very cool and up to date.. plenty of space for 14 people, and a very open concept on the upstairs floor which made it easy for everyone to spend time all together. The beds were super comfy, and the number of bathrooms were perfect! Great stay, and a very easy drive to wineries and bars at Geneva on the lake.
