About this house rental
Welcome to Serenity Place, a haven of peace and comfort as you vacation in the Finger Lakes! This home is located on the west side of Seneca Lake—the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes—within 15 minutes of the village of Penn Yan and 30 minutes from Watkins Glen. The quiet, dead-end road to the house contributes to the tranquility of the setting. Whether you have a group of two or ten, there's plenty of room for you to vacation in comfort.
Inside the house you will find a roomy kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook a meal. With an eat-up island for four and a dining room that seats ten, there's plenty of indoor seating at meals. If you love dining outside, the deck is just steps away from the dining room, through the patio doors, and has an outdoor dining set and gas grill.
The main floor has a large open cathedral ceiling in the main living area. You can relax in the living room in front of the gas fireplace or the large screen tv with surround sound. There are large windows overlooking the deck and Seneca Lake along with two sets of patio doors to access the deck. The views of the lake from the living room, dining room, and outdoor deck are stunning and expansive!
Tucked behind the main living area are the two main floor bedrooms, both with Queen size beds, and the newly renovated main floor full bath with a tiled shower.
Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms, both attached to a full bath with a tub/shower. Bedroom 3 has a Queen size bed and is very spacious. Bedroom 4 has a Twin/Double bunk combo.
On the lower floor is a lovely, large family room area with a full sized pool/ping pong table, foosball, TV/DVD player and a lounge area. There are plenty of games, toys and books for the kids and a table to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine while you watch a game or sit up to for a game of your own. This room has sliding glass doors that look over the lake and go out onto the covered patio which has a hot tub and outdoor dining table. Enjoy soaking in the hot tub while you watch the water on the lake!
Bedroom 5 is located in the lower level and has a King bed as well as patio doors to the hot tub area.
The clear view to the east gives you the perfect place to catch the sunrise as you sip your morning coffee from the deck or the patio areas. Use the lawn chairs in the grass area by the lake to relax and watch the lake or enjoy a campfire on the lakefront during the evenings. Sit on the upper deck and view the evening lake scenes as you prepare your supper on the deck grill. There are 4 kayaks available for you to use during your stay (seasonally) if you choose to get out on the water. The dock also has a boat hoist available for use to keep a v-bottom boat during your stay.
As a guest, you'll find no lack of things to do around you. Serenity Place is located just off of the Seneca Lake wine trail, and is just minutes away from the Climbing Bines Brewery and hops farm. The Village of Penn Yan is just a few miles down the road and contains dining options, coffee shops, and grocery stores. If you're looking for more options, the City of Geneva has a wider variety of dining venues, grocery options etc.

*Air conditioning is provided through a wall unit in the main living area and wall or window units in the bedrooms.
*A limited amount of paper towel, toilet paper, soaps, is provided for each guest.
**We ask that renters to be over the age of 25. By booking you agree with this policy and comply with the request that the renting party is over the age of 25.
**No pets or animals allowed at any time.
**No parties allowed at any time.
**Smoking prohibited
**Guest must comply with maximum occupancy at all times, no exceptions. Only 10 guests allowed at any time, additional guests will be asked to leave.
**Parking for 4 vehicles only.
**Lake conditions are not guaranteed and are non refundable
**Guest may be charged for misuse of the hot tub, if draining/refilling is necessitated from guest misuse
**Guests are asked to initial a rental waiver, sent via email, immediately after booking
**DOCKS: A dock is provided, you are solely responsible for ensuring docks, and/or mooring facilities are adequate.
Guest assumes liability for use of the dock and assumes responsibility and liability for damages done to the dock during their stay, whether the damage is done by their watercraft or the guest themselves.
**Seasonal amenities: kayaks and some outdoor furniture are available seasonally and are often available for use from mid-May to October

We loved the home, the decks, the lake, the kayaks, and location. The only problem was that the weather was very hot and humid. The next week would have been great

While our time spent with our children for three nights/4 days was wonderful, The property itself was not as expected. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean however, there is a lot of deep cleaning needed at this home. The windows were dirty, which made viewing the lake, not pleasant from inside. The sliding doors don’t work great, and only a couple had screens which were ripped and dirty, and difficult to slide. The basement area could use a fresh coat of paint, especially going down the stairs. There was ping-pong in a pool table, which was super fun, but the accessories are falling apart and need to be replaced. The home didn’t have a comfy feel to it especially since our stay was during the holiday that would have been a nice touch. There was a sad, looking artificial tree that had two strings of lights on it and one string didn’t work. There were excessive amounts of notes everywhere in the home, which was information included in the email from the property manager via email, as well as in binder. The floors are exceptionally squeaky to the point where it would wake people up sleeping in the nearby bedrooms either below or next to the bathroom on the first and the second floor.
The area is wonderful the town is nearby. The lake is beautiful. Please take these as constructive criticism to give your renters a more pleasant experience. My family and I travel a lot and use VRBO This was not one of our favorites
