First off, let me start by saying this condo itself is a beautiful unit. It's updated with nice, newer furnishings, and the beachy decor is welcoming and inviting. However, when I checked in, it was clear the unit had not been properly cleaned. There was what appeared to be food stuck on the kitchen floor, dirt on the floor in other areas, and the kitchen table was covered in dust. When I called Distinctive Beach rentals, they offered to send the housekeeping team back out, and I let them know that would be too disruptive and that I had cleaned up some of the mess myself. I told them I was happy with the unit overall, but that this housekeeping crew is definitely cutting corners. I politely requested for my cleaning fee to be refunded. The woman I spoke with said she would talk to her boss and get back to me. Fast-forward to a week later after I checked out. I called them back, spoke to the same woman (I am not naming her since she was kind and was as helpful as she could be) -- who again said she'd check the status of the fee refund with her boss and get back to me. Last night, I received a text saying they could not give me a refund because I had "resolved the cleaning concerns myself." It's clear this company does not care about their guests. I am not in St. Augustine for vacation. I'm visiting my dad, who has terminal cancer and is on hospice. What a disappointment it was to check into a filthy condo and still have to pay a cleaning fee for an already dirty unit.

Nice condo. Perfect for my needs. One suggestion....please put some kleenex or other facial tissue in the unit and please put a spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. I almost ran out! Otherwise, my stay was perfect.

Online pictures made it seem that the unit was much closer to the beach. We were never told how to obtain the cards that allowed you thru the “gate” to the beach until we spoke with local residents and it was three days into our trip until we were able to obtain them from V trips
