Overall good experience, with small disappointments

The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff was friendly. From the balcony at the second floor, the view of the mountains is mesmerizing. The food was also pretty good. The rooms were clean, hot water running at the shower and tap, pretty much all you need for a small city break.

We were offered to try some local liquor, and perhaps it is my fault because I assumed it is for free, but if I am paying for something, I would like to be told before, not just asked if I would like to try something, then later charged. I will be more skeptical when someone offers you nicely something to try.

Nice mountain retreat

The owner was super nice and helpful. The room was small and basic but clean. The location was really good for hiking. The owner made the effort to prepare the breakfast early, so we could start our hike early.

We also had a dinner at the accommodation, but this turned out quite pricey and not good. I’d rather recommend to search for another place to eat. Having said that the breakfast was good and efficient, so maybe we were just unlucky with this specific dinner. Aside from that everything was good.

Very nice owner who was able to organise me a taxi to the hotel and give me a lot of tips around the area. A good location heading out for local hikes.

The food ended up being a little bit pricey for what it was but it might just be a normal price range in places like this.

Good deal for groups

The location was great and peaceful. When we arrived the host warmly welcomed us with a shot of palinca. Food was good and fast served.

The single bed was not comfortable at all (and I can badically sleep on everything without problems) but the double bed did not had any issues.

Wonderful stay in the calmness of the mountains

We had a wonderful stay at the cabana in the middle of the mountains. We had the pleasure to also meet the owner who shared his experience and recommendations for the best tours around Rausor. The meals which were prepared by the owner himself were very tasty and you couldn’t ask for more hospitality. We will be hopefully back soon!

I loved this stay! Made me feel at home.

The property is beautiful, and the host was amazing. This puts you right on the trail. The host also cooked for us, and the meal was delicious! We drank some mulled wine and received homemade doughnuts, courtesy of the host. It was very cozy inside, warm and very pleasant.

Good but could be better

It’s a comfortable, cosy little pension.

The water pressure was bad, no more than a trickle from the tap. At one point there was no water at all. It can get quite noisy as the rooms are close together, with no soundproofing.

Everything. Location is excellent and pretty unique, in the heart of the natural reservation. Food was simple and fresh, very tasty. Host was very polite and responsive. We also got in love with the two dogs, Nina and Bruno, a good bonus for the animal lovers.

A good base, but in need of some improvements.

The location and views were great! plenty of seating space on the decking and balcony’s. having the fridge was handy!

The food was very expensive! 2 dinners and 4 breakfasts cost over 250 lei. A little steep considering it was one course and very basic. Bed sheets were clean, but very thin and old. scratching when touched and the pillows had no padding. Noise throughout the place was loud due to no insulation. Warning of the rod leading to the cabin would have been handy.

- Nice mountain view from balcony; - Proximity to yhe mountain trails _ turistic paths; - Well decorated room and bath; - Pure and cold tap water; - available parking; - there is a mountain nice restaurant in proximity, Dora. We've appreciated them kind support. Sometime you could quite use your debit card. Not sure if this depends on the host wellbeeing or the pour mobile signal in the area; - wifi available only in indoor, not on the terrace. But this is a salvation in a region with very pour mobile signal coverage. There is only one small operator which cover the area with mobile signal. - host could acomodate breakfast and other meals by request in advance for you. Just ask, agree the offer and the price. As a very isolated venue, be resonable and do not expect menus variety or cheep price. Just take also in consideration the host effort to accomodate these; - coffe is available by request at resonanlr price in location;

- tough smoking smell in the room; Yes, is mainly a foulty from our previous guests who igone not smoking indoor warrning, unfortunately this was not solve the issue; - very few option to eat in the Rausor venue. Somehow, the host accomodate to compensate our not preparation on this. There is a fridge in a lobby so you can take some food with you. Please consider this a neutral feeback, just prepare somehow for this;

Firstly the location Rausor.. It's the second time I make the mistake of booking here. If you have small children, you will be stuck near and around the property. As for the property, and it a can applies to most there, since they are all on steep slopes, with very limited land, cabins are one next to the other like in a city. If you really want to be in Rausor, you could stay here but I think you can find better. On point, It's overpriced, the meals apparently you have to pre-note in advance .

Decent accommodation up in Retezat Mountains

Close to the trails to hike Mount Retezat. Host was friendly. she prepared meals on request-which was good as there isn't much else in Rauser for food.

Room is basic - which was fine considering the location, but hot water in shower did not work on my second day. Road is a bit rough getting there - luckily it was dry, would not want to drive it after a rain storm.

Very good experience

A typical mountain cottage, great place for hiking, trails start just round the corner. The host was very nice and helpful, fulfilled all our needs. Our rooms were basic but cosy, warm and clean. There was a fireplace and a big terrace with nice view in front of the house. We enjoyed the company of two dogs who were our guides in the mountains.
