Cabana Mea STRAJA

Very welcoming, with cozy room and a big kitchen open for guests, with all utilities, large dinning table a large TV and a couch, good place to hang out with friends to watch a game for instance. There is also a sun patio with beautiful flowers and an outdoor rustic jacuzzi (ciubăr). Hosts were very warm and helpful.

The lady host is very helpful and kind. She will make sure you have everything you need to have the best experience. We asked her to prepare the dinner the day of our arrival and it was delicious. She is a great cook, I really recommend their culinary experience. Their guest kitchen is well equipped and spacious. They are welcoming guests and greeted us with some bluberry liquor (afinată) and offered morning coffee from the house. Room 2 has a generous bathroom and a generous balcony shared with room nr 3, very nice. Rooms are looking good with nice colors and the whole property looks modern. Good value for money for Straja. We found the rooms and bathrooms clean. Free and generous parking at the end of the alley.

What I don't like is that they didn't change the bed sheets between guests. I found this by accident: I traveled with a group of friends for hiking and I arrived a day before our group. When I got my room for the first day (room nr 2) there was a stain on the corner of the bed sheet. I said maybe it is some permanent stain. Then in day nr 2 I moved to room nr 3 with other male friends (separate booking). And my previous room nr 2 was cleaned and prepared for another guest who was the only girl in our hiking group. I visited my previous room nr 2 when it was ready for the new guest and there was the same stain on the bed sheet. I carefully verified the bed sheets on my new room nr 3 and I found it was also not very clean (some random barely visible stains) and had some hair on it. I have photos if somebody is interested. I showed and explained this to the host and I asked the host to change the bed sheets with clean ones which they did immediately. This is unacceptable for tourism and a serious problem. However in room 2 and 5 used by our group there was a pregnant smell of sewage which suggest some siphoning problems. The location as mention by other guests is not ideal (no mountain view, cramped between other properties and difficult to find) but not a problem for us, we just wanted a decent place to sleep. The shower cabin is very small and uncomfortable in rooms 3 and 5. Some wall sockets are broken or with missing parts. The mirror in bathroom 3 is not hanged above the sink, but above the toilet and above the sink is the window (bad design). There was no hairdryer in room 3 although in the room description on booking it says there is one. The parquet floor is shaky in rooms.
