The presentation photos are deceiving. The facility is dirty, dated and not taken care of,

The place is very nice, very clean and very well equipped. The host was very kind and communicative. He made sure we have everything we need at our disposal.
The cabin has wooden floors that squeak. Not an actual problem unless you are trying to put a baby to sleep by walking around. :) Also the beds squeak a bit.

Definitely does not deserve the score on Booking.
Heating was working fine, close to the ski resort, cleanliness upstairs.
First thing first!! The owner had a lot of alcohol before we arrived, and because of that, the communication was extremely poor!! What I discussed with his son before arriving, he got it completely wrong! He wanted 7 adults in one room just so he can clean less...!! You could hear everything that was happening in the other rooms. The "double" bed was very small in some of the rooms. The lock in the toilet was broken.

House at Reteza foothills
The house is very large and comfortable. There are quite a number of places to sleep and enough bathrooms. Everything was very clean and the owners were very kind to offer us some bread and fresh eggs. They also left us a phone for us to use since there was no signal on ours. The location is right at the bottom of Retezat hiking trails and very close to the ski slope.
The village of Rausor is developed in a chaotic way with houses crammed into each other. All over the place there are houses being build...so Saturday morning we were woken up by concrete mixer and the lawn in front of the house was muddy. There is no Wi-Fi and no phone signal. During our stay we used a fix phone borrowed to us by the owner. There are no shops in the village; Groceries can be bought in the nearby village (5km away) or in the city of Hateg
