Carp's Rise Cottage

This was our first visit to the park and it was great! Really good for families with lots of activities and beautiful scenery. The cottage was spacious and well equipped with lots of utensils, games and things to make it homely. The beds were comfortable and WiFi good. Hosts were extremely helpful and communicative, answering all our questions quickly and helping us make the most of our stay. We didn't want to leave and will surely come back!

Small things but would be good to have a twin option in one room. Shampoo and conditioner would be welcome in bathrooms.

Roy is an excellent host, providing information well in advance and quick to respond to our questions. Mill Village is a great destination with a free heated swimming pool and restaurant on site. There's plenty of walks around the lakes and it's a short car ride to The Cotswolds Water Park. The cottage was good in terms of decoration, 3 bathrooms (1 ensuite), comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. There's a dining table which seats 6 and two small sofas. There was a nice surprise of a few goodies in the kitchen and a 'lucky dip' of a small toy for our young granddaughters. The kitchen had a good size fridge freezer, oven microwave, toaster, kettle and cafetiere. There's storage on the landing for clothes but no hanging space. Parking for 1 car is a little tight but there's visitor parking a few minutes walk away. Bikes and kayaks can be hired on site.

There were areas in the cottage that felt could be cleaner, doorsteps, corners of rooms, skirting boards, shutters, small table in ensuite. The garden needs some attention. The decking looks like it hasn't been swept for some time and the hedge and brambles at the back of the cottage are starting to encroach on the decking. Decking could benefit from re-staining. Although there are cushions for the seating outside, the chairs are dirty. The same applies to the 2 chairs and flooring on the juliet balcony off of the main bedroom. Not sure if the 2 small sofas in the lounge would provide enough seating for 6 adults?

Beautiful cottage! I’ve stayed at few of the lodges on this estate due to the location and we loved this for our girls trip! Three girls with a double bedroom each , beautiful views and lovely host!

Can’t really think of a fault, only thing I can think of was shower wasn’t that powerful but I’m really pushing to think of something, didjt bother us anyway!
