About this house rental

Allow us to introduce Oak Lodge, a 4-bed detached ‘sunhouse’ with spectacular views over Howells Mere Lake. Set in a nature reserve within 500 acres of Cotswold countryside, it is one of a few enviable south-facing sunhouses on Howells Mere. The balcony on the 1st floor provides elevated views - the perfect spot to sit & take in the natural light that pours into the home. On the large ground floor decking sits a private hot tub, which due to its position seemingly hangs you out over the water!

STATED GROUP SIZE: Bookings are accepted on the group size & configuration stated at the time of booking. Any changes to this would require permission. Lower Mill Estate is a gated and warden controlled private estate and we provide the Estate with all guest group sizes and group dynamics prior to arrival, which are confirmed at the time of booking.

DAY VISITORS: Day visitors to the Property may be permitted with our prior consent, at our discretion, provided that the total group (including visitors) does not exceed the maximum occupancy of the Property.

SPA ACCESS: All but a 4 minute walk to the Luxury Spa complex, of which you get full rental access during your stay, allowing you and your family and friends to use the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Outdoor pools are closed during the low season.

NATURE FIRST: Lower Mill Estate is a nature first environment and we are all guests of nature. As such, things like certain lakes being closed in off season for nesting, low level lighting at night, reeds being left to grow to full height, is part of managing the unique environment and eco system.

PARKING: Each property on the Estate has one designated parking space within a few yards of their front door. All other vehicles can make use of the nearby additional communal visitor spaces and/or the overflow car parks. Please do try and limit the number of cars where possible.

HOT TUB: All of our hot tubs are maintained by a professional pool company, Messrs, MR Pools. Please do not use the hot tub after 10:30pm to retain the peaceful & respectful environment, in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

TRAVEL COT OPTION: We are unable to supply bedding or a mattress thicker than the ‘wrap around base’ that the travel cot comes with. For your reference, the approx. size of a standard travel cot is 60-65cm x 95-100cm.

BBQs: Due to insurance restrictions & potential health & safety compliance issues, we have removed BBQs from each property. Therefore, please remember to pack your own, or alternatively purchase a disposable BBQ for alfresco cooking.

LAKE SAFETY: All outside terrace areas are child proof and have over waist height glass balustrades all the way around, providing a safe environment for children.

PETS: we request that care is taken to prevent any additional damage caused from pets. For example, please wipe paws on entry to lodge. Please do not allow your dogs on any furniture/sofas and/or on beds.

Great family property. We had 9 people, ages from 8 to 68. Hot tub was used a lot as was the arcade game on top landing. Access to the lake was just by the side of the house, so very convenient. Kitchen well stocked with all you need for a home cooked dinner etc. Great location overlooking Howellys Mere and only 5 min walk to swimming pool, tennis courts and centre. We had an evening meal at Balihoos which was very nice, albeit the choices were a bit limited.
