Casa dos Caldeiras

The bnb it self is amazing. It has very great kitchen and living room area, that spans the view of the valley and the farm. It is well decorated and exceeding the normal definition of an airbnb or guesthouse.

The room I booked has an external bathroom, which requires walking a little down the common area. This is unexpected but tolerable. Most unbelivably, the door of the building is not locked and you feel unsafe while staying in the midnight although the neighbourhood is quite safe. But due to the location of the room to the unlocked door, I had a bad sleep since I'm worrying about some break-in risks.

Beautiful room in shared house- the bedroom itself was super comfortable with a balcony outdoors, and everything very clean. Kitchen well equipped and the breakfast every day was wonderful. Filipe is a excellent host and we loved our time on Pico island. The location is perfect for whale watching in Lajes and being able to travel by car to the mountain and other hikes.

This place was so perfect, could not ask for anything more! Thank you :)

It was simply amazing. A beautiful house with a couple of rooms and shared kitchen and living room. It is such a pretty house! I imagine I could stay there forever. It has a big terrace where you can drink the morning coffe looking at the country and a pair of cows. The breakfast was so great. Thank you for everything, I wish I could come back one day.

The place on the whole is quite nice, everything is renovated to a high standard, nicely furnished, very clean, very friendly host. The location was also good, easy to reach with a car.

We had the room in the ground floor with the external bathroom and it was not the right room for us due to the lack of privacy. The room is directly in front of the kitchen/common area where people eat breakfast/dinner. Some people would sit there until late (23.30), others would have their breakfast early (8.00) and we would hear everything. It is also very unpleasant to go to the bathroom in the morning/evening walking by the other guests who have their breakfast/dinner.It also happened that other guests used our bathroom even though it is supposed to be our private bathroom. The lack of privacy also comes from the fact that the room can be looked into from the outside from both sides, from the terrace which is a common area and from the street. It feels a bit like in an aquarium and means we have to put the curtains in front whenever we are in the room. All in all it feels like a flat share situation. It was not what we were looking for, maybe other people might be less bothered.
