Cuscungo Cotopaxi Hostel & Lodge

Super nice and comfy place, amazing view

Location is a bit far from restaurants and remote but you can walk to the south entrance of the Cotopaxi park, it’s like 1.5 km

Too many flies, the dinner of the second night was mashed potatoes with tiny pieces of chicken (7.50$).

We stayed two nights at this lodge, and it's a really nice backpacker-style hotel offering both standard and simple rooms depending on your needs. The rooms are basic but clean and quiet. What really stood out was the host, Javier, who was consistently friendly and helpful with everything — always smiling, and even helped with laundry. When the weather cooperates, you get a great view of Cotopaxi from here, making it a lovely base for seeing and visiting the volcano. The hotel also offers a full range of backpacker services, including taxi service, jeep tours, and horseback riding. A great, welcoming spot for anyone exploring the Cotopaxi area.

The window of the room was open when we arrived, so the room was full of flies. There also wasn’t any toiletpaper in the bathroom. Very narrow bed for 2 people, so one of us ended up sleeping in the bunk bed. There is a cement factory nearby, which started grinding rocks at 4 in the morning! So bring earplugs when you stay here.
