AL MAR HERMOSA Penthouse Condo: Amazing Views, Amenities And Top Decoration

We chose Playa Hermosa because we had a previous active tour and wanted a quieter, relaxing location for the end of our trip. The condo was perfect - an easy, short walk to the beach; great views from the comfortable balconies and enough room for our family group of 8 (ages 30-80). The kitchen was well equipped, the public rooms comfortable and well furnished, the wifi was strong and consistent. There were tv's in every bedroom (we did not use them but others might want to know this!). The owner, Alejandro, was very responsive to every question we had. One suggestion might be to collect information into a binder as many other owners do - passwords, how to work the safe, where the recycling goes, quirks of the bathroom windows and so on. That might avoid some of the questions, but, as I said, he promptly responded to all messages so it wasn't really a problem for us. The only negative was the noisy construction going on nearby but that was no one's "fault" and actually, after a couple of days we didn't notice it so much. We had a wonderful 2 weeks there and would recommend it fully!

The condo is very high end with excellent finishes. The fourth bathroom is outside, accessed from the balcony of the upper floor and is not as nice as the rest of the apartment. The stairway to the upper level has no outer railing and makes the apartment questionable for small children. The main balcony is huge and extremely comfortably furnished, and one of our favorite elements. The kitchen is well furnished with everything expected and extras, like a panini press and rice cooker. The same can be said for the bathrooms with flat irons and dryers. On the master suites private balcony there was a fantastic queen sized sun mattress. In the master bath there was a jetted tub with its own window, allowing a bath with a view. There were even inflatable beach toys. The maid service was very thorough, almost a deep cleaning every time. Playa Hermoza is a lovely walkable family oriented beach. There are even two excellent restaurants nearby. We would return in a cold New York minute.

Just had a wonderful vacation at this very spacious and lovely decorated apartment. We have stayed at different places around the area, but none as well kept and tastefully decorated as this one. For us it was top priority to stay somewhere with enough of room for all our extended family members to sleep comfortably. We loved the fact that we could easily walk to the beach or just spend the day relaxing and enjoying the amazing view if we just felt like “staying in”. Highly recommended if you´re planning a vacation with a large group of friends or family, definitely pleased everyone. Restaurant recommendations round the area Ginger (Asian fusion) or Abbocato (Italian).

We stayed as a family over the Christmas and New Year holiday (4 Adults and 1 Teenager). The condo was amazing. It has topnotch finishes and amenities. The view of the sunset every evening was over the top. The condo is the prime penthouse unit on the 7th floor with great ocean views to give you a front-row seat every evening as the sun goes down. You are within a block to the beach so a walk everyday is easy. The Beach has several places to eat and drink, great beach activities (jet ski, bananas boat, etc) and locals enjoying their beautiful beach. The people are very friendly, I have traveled all over the world and the Costa Ricans are some the friendliest and most optimistic people I have met and why not when they have a beautiful lush clean country to call home. Alejandro is a great host and was always available by phone, text or email to answer any question we might have. You will need a car for this location but not get to beach but to restaurants, shopping and to explore. We will definitely visit again.
