Journey through time to Bessie’s Landing in Jefferson, Texas. This charming cottage is located in the City’s Historic District and is ideally suited for a weekend get-a-way or long-term stay. The cottage has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 3), 1 bathroom, private entrance, WiFi, and includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and a beautifully decorated living area. Bessie's Landing is a 2 ½ hour drive from Dallas and an hour drive from Shreveport. Adjacent to the cottage is the main house which was built in 1857 and Guests are welcome to tour. I have stayed in many homes/cottages over the years, and Bessie’s Landing was without compare. It is charming, centrally located, clean, and beautiful. Also, I cannot overstate how well equipped and stocked it is. They have taken Southern Hospitality to a new level!

An outstanding stay! We were sooo comfortable! We were welcomed along with our dog! The Casa had all sorts of “goodies” for breakfast and snacks. Very clean and comfortable stay! Great information about things to do in the surroundings. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful and we hope to be able to stay the next time we visit!

This was a great stay. The host lives on the same property, so was able to greet us when we arrived. We loved the house and the ability to walk into downtown (10-15 minutes). We were surprised that the refrigerator, pantry, and wine rack were stocked with items available for our use. We had planned to grab some items from the grocery store (a block away), but did not need to. We had no issues during the stay, but if there had been any, I am sure our host would have dealt with them immediately.

This location is very walkable to every tourist site in the city and the grocery store. If you are tired of all the driving, this is the place where you can park the car and walk. This city has 30 events every year, so most weekends there is something going on here. There are lots of places to stay in Jefferson, but Elaine is a very generous host, She had blueberry bread, 3 bottles of wine, coke, orange juice, milk, two different types and all the fixing for a wonderful breakfast including bacon. The first night there we were tired from our trip and everything we needed was already there. This is a lovely place to stay with your loved ones.
