The Steamboat Inn

Wow! Where to begin. My wife and I were looking for a place to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a friend of ours suggested Caddo Lake as a quiet and beautiful destination. After checking on lodging I found Steamboat Inn. It looked wonderful and romantic in the pictures and we weren't disappointed when we arrived. Right away the staff made us feel right at home and the room was exactly what we were looking for. The property is filled with period antiques and decorated wonderfully. It was less than 5 minutes walk to old town Jefferson and if you're a history buff, you'll definitely enjoy yourself. Jefferson has quite the colorful history. Jefferson has a direct historical connection with Caddo lake. The lake is a very short 20 minute drive from Jefferson and is extremely beautiful. The breakfast at the Inn was wonderful and carefully prepared each morning. You will be surprised each day at the offering. There are homemade cookies, coffee and tea available most of the day and you are welcome to get a snack from the refrigerator in the kitchen if you get a little hungry between meals. The restaurants in Jefferson were quite good. I can highly recommend 1852 on Austin. Wonderful restaurant with a different take on southern comfort food.

Our favorite part was the swing on the front porch. We sat there in the mornings and had coffee. It was so peaceful. The breakfast was exceptional as well. The staff is very attentive and helpful.

I have nothing to complain about. The Steamboat Inn is located in the perfect spot. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go.
