About this cottage rental
Whether you’re planning a family gathering, or a get-away with group of friends, then this is the property for you. If your group is more than 12 people, you could combine a booking with one of our adjacent properties, or the whole site.
This property has 6 good sized bedrooms which can be prepared for you as either twin or double rooms to suit your group. With bedrooms on the ground and first floor, and a combination of bathrooms and shower-rooms, there should be a room to suit everyone’s preference. The first floor bedrooms have the most stunning views across the Wye Valley, with Monsal Head, Longstone ridge, and the Hunting Tower on the Chatsworth Estate all within sight.
The open-plan living area is designed to create a convivial atmosphere for the group. Even if it’s your turn to prepare dinner, you’ll be able to mingle with the rest of the group and share a glass of wine while you undertake your chores. The living area is centred around a double sided log burning stove so that you can chat into the night with the glow of a flickering flame. While we do have a TV for your entertainment, this space will encourage you to keep it switched off and spend time together. In the summer months, you have your own private patio area.
With larger groups, it’s sometimes difficult to make bookings in pubs and restaurant, so you’ll find everything you need for a great stay-at-home dining experience. The kitchen has 2 fridges, a freezer and 2 dishwashers, all to make your stay as easy as possible.

Property very good, well equipped kitchen for 12 people. Large towels always a bonus and toiletries. The games room is excellent. Julia & John the owners very helpful. Only downside was the enclosed patio area as it was gravel so children couldn't use although there was a field children to young to go on their own.

We very much appreciated our stay in Hayloft during Covid regulations- each family sharing the 5 days and very much enjoying the accommodation, facilities and local area for exploring. John and Julia made us most welcome - our grandchildren loved feeding the pigs and organising tournaments in the games room and playing cricket in the field . We loved it and will return. Facilities are superb , everything is well thought out and much appreciated. Thank you .

We had an excellent time at The Hayloft. We were three families comfortably staying together in the property, including young children.
The owners were great with providing information before and during our stay and answered any questions we had promptly. We even managed to see their firstborn lamb at only a few hours old, which the children loved!!
The cottage has clearly been renovated to a really high standard throughout and there were some very thoughtful welcome gifts for us on arrival.
Beautiful views and great location to explore the Peak District. We visited Monsal Dale, Bakewell, Buxton and the owner recommended a great pub in Great Longstone for a lovely lunch.
We would definitely look to book the cottage again in the future. Only one thing I would point out is that the games/laundry room wasn’t completed when we visited which actually wasn’t a problem for us and we were kindly allowed to use the owner’s washing machine. I’m not sure when it is due to be completed but I’m sure it will be done to a high standard!
