This warm, comfortable, two-story home features three bedrooms with queen-sized beds, luxury linens, and additional futons and couches. There are two full baths and an additional vanity. Laundry facilities are on-site. On the living level there is a working fireplace, Dish TV, DVD player and CD music system, and wireless internet. On the lower level there is a second fireplace, Dish TV, VCR/DVD and a classic collection of DVDs and VHS movies. The kitchen is fully-equipped. There is outdoor parking for three cars only. This is a child-friendly home with safety gates at the stair tops. There are books, movies, toys and games to enjoy during your stay.

The creek and two miles of curving Sonoma Coast Beach is a three-minute walk from your door at Sojourn, in the quaint, quiet community of Salmon Creek, one mile north of Bodega Bay, California. You will experience an awe-inspiring view from the large deck and upper living area, including Pacific ocean waves, coastal hills, and the meandering Salmon Creek as it snakes its way to the sea.

At the coast, local activities include hiking the bluffs or through the Redwood groves, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, whale watching, horseback riding and fishing. Nearby golf courses include Bodega Harbour Golf Links, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Northwood, a nine-hole gem cut amongst the redwoods along the Russian River, designed by Alister MacKensie, who designed Augusta National and Cypress Point. Sojourn by the Sea was every bit as magical as the listing. For those coming to Bodega Bay, you know the area is cold. But this house felt homely to return to after hiking in the area, with a grand living room, dining room, and serviceable kitchen. We look forward to staying here again. The surprises were - downstairs seemed to be a bit cooler but there were plenty of sheets. Also there are only 2 full bathrooms, with an extra sink in the hallway. The best surprise was the side green-teahouse. It was warm inside and you could definitely read a book while sipping tea there.

19 years ago we reconnected and have an annual trip together. This was our 18th yr (missed one due to Covid). Your home was perfect. Three bedrooms with VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS! The house was very comfortable to visit and just unwind. We hiked the Redwoods, walked on many beaches and had wonderful pizza with outdoor music in Cazadero. We did daily Yoga using your CD player. We would definitely come back if our journey's bring us back to Bodega Bay. Thanks for the wine-awesome!

My husband and I (50s) spent a week at Sojourn with our son and his wife (early 20s) and my parents (80s) in early August. We had a lovely time and those of us who could make it down the steps (see below) enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, as well as the amazing views out of the second-story windows—both the creek and the ocean are right there. Bodega Bay allows easy travel to many things; we liked visiting Armstrong Redwoods the best. The beds were very comfortable and my family enjoyed the many amenities. The property owner is very responsive and friendly. My only concern is that the listing did not specify that the main living area was on the second story, instead referring to living and lower levels. My parents have mobility issues and getting them up to the second story was hard. At least there was a bed and bath up there. Why not just call them the first and second stories, because that's that what they are. I don't get being coy with terms. That aside, it was a lovely stay in a gracious home in an amazing part of California.

Nice little cottage. Very dated. No frills. Would not recommend for older (70+) people as the stairs are difficult to manage. Bathrooms are tiny. Parking was easy, host was easy to communicate with, view is lovely. If you are just looking for a place to sleep while you are out at the beach or doing things locally I would say this was safe bet.

This property was ideal for our family. The home was comfortable and roomy with a very nice ocean view. We cooked a few meals in the well appointed kitchen. The baby gates at the stairs made things easy with the 1 year old we traveled with. I would recommend this property to anyone with a medium-sized family. We had seven in ours and were very comfortable. The South Salmon Creek beach is walkable from the property. Highly recommend!

It was just as described in the listing. Had everything we needed to enjoy a great family weekend. We supplied the family, of course. The three bedrooms were perfect for our family of two couples and one single. The patio is such a plus with a great ocean view. Yes, there are power lines visible too, but such is modern life in an older established beach neighborhood. Owner was super helpful with questions prior to our visit. Walk to beach is short and the sand has lots of drift wood to admire and shell searching opportunities. We’d love to visit again sometime.

To be fair, we arrived on a very chilly, rainy afternoon. Luckily there were only 2 of us, because we could not find any way to heat the 3rd bedroom. The smaller lower level bedroom has an electric baseboard-style heater which worked very well to warm that room. The attached bathroom has no heat and was very cold all the time. The upstairs bedroom was without an obvious heat source, but we found a small heater with a fan in the closet. It was noisy but eventually did the job. The house has a wonderful view from the kitchen and living room, but none from the bedrooms. Especially in the living room, the furnishings are old and very dated. Poor lighting doesn't help to cheer up the space. Everything worked, but it's not a house to use in the winter months, in my opinion. The two baths are both en-suite to two bedrooms, with a strange little door on the stair landing to access the lower level bath from the other bedroom. There is a single free-standing sink in the entry hall, a rather odd addition to the house.

Great property with main living area upstairs, giving you the advantage to eat, play games, read, etc. while looking at and listening to the ocean. Short walk to the beach, so you can skip the madness of trying to find a parking spot, especially on a weekend. This is the second year of staying at this home for our family get-together. The home had plenty of room for all and a great time was had by everyone.

The location and home were very family friendly. The kitchen is stocked very well with everything we needed for cooking for a party of 8 people. There are issues though; e.g., the wooden Adirondack chairs need refurbishing, there light bulbs were out and need replacing in the upstairs restroom, the barbecue did not work as it should, there were spiders everywhere (we even saw a black widow spider). In short, it’s little things that make a big difference.

We love the Sojourn. Has a perfect view of Salmon Creek and the ocean. The beds were comfortable. It rained 2 of the 3 days we were there. We even lost power but by the time we found the lanterns and candles it was back on. We had everything we needed and the owner even provided a nice bottle of wine. Thank you Mary Jill. Perfect! Views from the kitchen/dining area and deck overlook the ocean. Beach is within a 5 minute walk. Well-appointed kitchen and comfortable sleeping arrangements. You will feel the hospitality of your hosts in every aspect of your stay at Sojourn. From the first communication that follows your initial booking to the information that your hosts will provide both by mail and on the property, you will find that they have anticipated your needs and your questions and have taken the initiative to meet those needs and answer your questions before you ever ask. More than spacious enough for our six adults (possible occupancy is 8), with very comfortable furniture for everyone, comfortable beds, and much more, you will feel both "at home" and, at the same time, that very thoughtful hosts have offered you a very special place to get away and rest. Easy to find from California Highway 1, a short walk to South Salmon Creek Beach, minutes from the small community of Bodega Bay but just far enough away to be very quiet and peaceful. The journals on site are filled with thanks from many guests who have come before you.

My husband, myself and our daughter's family had a fabulous week at the Sojourn. The home had a fun 70's kind of vibe and was perfectly set up for four adults and two children. The ocean view from the deck was gorgeous and the sunsets were spectacular. There was a complete kitchen except for a dishwasher. My grandsons enjoyed the toys, games, and beach toys. The Sojourn is just a short walk to the beach and the Coastal Prairie Trail is nearby.

We have always had a soft spot for Bodega Bay and especially loved the opportunity to visit Salmon Creek again, a charming hamlet just off Route 1. We throughly enjoyed our time in this cozy, beautiful home (yes, it looks like some very crafty people put in practical and lovely art pieces - check out the back alcove/sun room!) -- it has a great view of the creek and the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. It's a short stroll to the beach and also to a kayak/paddle board launch by the creek. And there are many quails and cotton tailed bunnies around to keep you entertained on the neighborhood streets. It's also located just a mile away from the community center and the Children's Bell Tower along a scenic trail. Kitchen was well equipped and beds we're cozy, lots of common spaces for gathering and enjoying company. Our hosts were very gracious and proactive so what more could we ask for?

We loved the location, the peace and quiet. The quick walk to the beach and the stunning views. Everything we needed was in the house, the supply of Pete’s coffee and organic teas were a very nice touch, as well as handmade hand soaps. The house was well stocked in bedding, blankets, beach toys, crockery and games. The beds and furniture were comfortable. As long as you know it is always windy, and colder compared to inland, on the Northern California coast and you come prepared for this you will have a fantastic time.

If you are after a sleek, modern vacation home, with all the mod-cons, then this is not the place for you, but it is clean, well equipped, perfectly basic and has fantastic views.Even though we knew there was no dishwasher, it is always surprising to our kids that there wasn't one!There are base-board heaters in the two downstairs bedrooms and in the hallway, plus another in the living area which warms up the house perfectly.We came to Salmon Creek to stay for 9 nights as we needed to leave our home whilst work was being carried out. My husband and I were still working, and the kids needed to remote school, so this was not a vacation per se, but the location made it feel so.My husband and I took the ensuite room upstairs, and our kids took the two rooms downstairs, with one kid in one room (8 years old), and the other two in the larger room (9 and 7), as an extra bed had been set up for us in there.There is a large balcony, that I wish the weather had been better so we could have made more use of, but it was not to be.My husband set himself up with a work area in the upstairs living room with a table we had brought from home especially, and the rest of us used the dining table. With numerous video conference calls between all of us at different points and at the same time, the wifi was perfect. No glitching or anything, so top marks!If you have young, or mischievous kids, that like to open doors and explore, this may not be the place for you. In the double room downstairs, is a sliding patio door that is very easy to unlock, which leads into a dilapidated looking sunroom, which then easily leads straight out of the property. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs that can be used, but off of the living area is again sliding patio doors leading onto the balcony, that has stairs leading straight down and then onto the road. Not a problem for us, but I could imagine it could be for some.We had a couple of days of heavy rain, and the only place that leaked was into the garage where the washing machine and dryer are, so as long as your laundry is off of the floor, there are no issues. We did have a day and night of strong winds, and the howling that comes through the dilapidated sunroom was noisy and scary for the kids, but eventually they fell asleep.All in all, a great place, convenient for cycle trails, walks to the beach, sunset watching and generally just relaxing.

The neighborhood is so cute! We loved the view from the kitchen and unique layout. We felt very welcomed and experienced excellent and prompt communication with the host from booking through our stay. Definitely recommend. Oh and the beds were the MOST COMFORTABLE EVER.
