Farmstay in the Sustainable Farm
Welcome to Casa Paraiso!
You will think that you have died and gone to heaven. One bathroom home is nestled atop a hill with a lovely view overlooking the verdant green valleys of the MonteVerde forests and pasturelands. From the balcony, there is a commanding view of the lush valley below.
If you are fortunate, you will have front rowseats to a specatacular lightening show. From the balcony, you will be mezmerized by the parade of butterflies and hummingbirds that visit the abundant flowers throughout the day. Despite the feeling of privacy and total seclusion, you are just a few minutes drive to the town of MonteVerde, fifteen minutes to the reserve, and within walking distance of many other local attractions including ziplining, coffee tours, and night tours.
This truly offers the best of both worlds, allowing you to see the history and authenic beauty that has made Costa Rica and Monteverde and international draw while being cose to amenities and all that is new within the area as well.
However, the best part about this home is the ability you have to take a peek into authentic Costa Rican life.
This is a third generation, small scale, sustainable farm. The animals are pasture-fed and roam freely throughout the day. It is our vision to continue to operate this farm without the use of pesticides or chemical based fertilizers and to maintain a balance of pasturelands and forest.
Guests are invited to take a tour of the farm.
Come and see the cows up close and try your hand at milking.
Take a tour of the garden, where you will find banana trees, the beginnings of a small scale coffee farm, and seasonal fruits and veggies under the care of our family. We also have sheep, goats, pigs, and poultry on the premesis that are all a part of the farm operation. MonteVerde is an area with a rich history in dairy production.
My family has been a part of it since the time that oxen were used to transport milk daily to town.
At the conclusion of the farm tour, we invite to you dine with us and try your hand at making fresh Costa Rican cheese. You can enjoy an authentic meal featuring the freshly made cheese, hand made tortillas, along with other locally sourced and seasonably available items. You will notice a diffence in the quality of the food that is locally sourced and where animals are fed a natural diet. This is an opportunity to experience "La Pura Vida" at its finest.

The cabin is situated on the cliff side overlooking farm lands. The working farm has tours and demonstrations and was a lot of fun to just walk around while staying there. The cabin is well appointed and also easy to access montaverde. Great place to unplug and relax with a cup of coffee on the porch. It’s a single cabin and very quiet

Orlando and his family were hospitable hosts. The farm tour, chance to make fresh cheese, and homemade dinner were excellent. The view from both casa #1 and casa #2 were amazing. We stayed in casa #2 and enjoyed the solitude. The shower water was only luke-warm, but it still did the job. Would recommend to others who are looking for a look into real-life living in Costa Rica and enjoy some solitude.
