About this house rental

My home has been mentioned in Texas Monthly: https://www.texasmonthly.com/travel/ten-great-vacation-rentals-vetted-by-texas-monthly-writers/

If you are looking for a place close to Bandera yet in the country this 2 bedroom 2 bath home is the place. It is authentic vintage 1940’s Texas western. Located within a mile from Main street Bandera this home is situated on 4 acres in a neighborhood and feels secluded, but not isolated, near the city and offers perfect bird & deer watching. The house is loaded with character but has all of the modern amenities and is very comfortable with a restful atmosphere. This home will sleep up to 6 people. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, the second bedroom has 2 twins, and there is also a fold out sofa bed that will sleep two. The house was built by my grandfather and father as a family vacation lodge in 1947-48. Outwardly it appears much as it did when it was built, but it has all brand new mechanicals, wiring, & plumbing. The large living room has a rock fireplace (wood burning), hardwood floors, finished pine walls and vaulted ceiling, & is decorated with Ranch Oak & W.R. Dallas furniture.

The breezeway with D’Hanis tile floors and large windows looks out onto the wooded property and serves as the dining area. The second bedroom has a western theme with cowboy wallpaper, sheets, and furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, except there is no dishwasher. The home has a security system, covered parking, new central air & heat, high speed internet TV, a MP3 / Ipod capable stereo AM / FM sound system , CD player, and a washer & dryer, and there is no telephone service but excellent cell coverage. The House features: -King size bed in master bedroom -First bath with glass enclosed shower -Twin beds in second bedroom -Second bath with tub / shower combination -Fold out sofa bed for two -Kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, range top & convection oven, and refrigerator- fitted out with good cookware and appliances -Large living room -Large front porch

Amenities: -Washer & dryer in adjacent shed -Bandera smoker & charcoal grill -Firewood available -Ipod / MP3 capable stereo sound system -Satellite TV -Water softener system -Security system -Covered parking -Dog kennel -All bath & bed linens provided -Utensils & dishes provided. This was my second time staying here, and it was absolutely perfect again. It is an incredible vintage time capsule but with 21st century HVAC and wifi. I spent half my stay sharing photos of all the fun and fascinating ranch house design elements and decor. Highly recommend this property for relaxation, bird watching, and peace and quiet.

The breaker tripped the first night for all the lights in both bedrooms, had to email host because i couldnt find the breaker box, it was hidden behind a picture. Front A/C unit didnt work the whole time we were there, it was hot. It was pretty close to town.

My wife and I wanted a quiet and peaceful place to spend our 59th wedding anniversary. The ranch house filled the bill! It was the perfect place to explore the surrounding small towns and the beauty that the area is known for. Max was the perfect host!

Home was very Texas quaint. Had to drive through dilapidated trailer park which is on 4 acre property. Dogs ended up with fleas…many deer and squirrels. Can hear highway from outside, quiet inside. One key opens deadlock from inside and outside. Owner has alarm system.

We loved our relaxing getaway at this lovely little home that was built by the owner's grandparents. We would definitely stay again! It was cute and quaint, and I could almost imagine my grandmother bringing out cookies as we lounged andwatched the birds.

I chose this cabin because it looked like a fun, quirky spot. This was exactly what we had hoped. The cabin has character and is very cozy. The location is quiet without being too isolated, which is exactly what we wanted.I recommend this property. The check is was easy, though it might be hard to find the turn for the cabin late at night. This is prefect for a relaxing getaway. We did have one issue with fleas while there, which was unfortunate. The host was responsive, and while nothing could be done right away, I appreciated the quick response. Hopefully this issue gets solved for the future and the property can be as wonderful as it can be for future visitors.
