Mackinac Lake Trail Motel

The facility and room are well kept, clean, and accessible. The grounds are lovely. We would have liked seeing more that one chair in a room accommodating two people. Our overall experience was very nice.

We lived the pool. The temperature of it was very nice; warm to touch yet cool when entering. Loved the wooden chaise chairs. There were 2. Has other people been lounging we may not have had use of them. There were other sit down chairs. Pool hours were from 10 am to 8:30 pm. Longer hours would have been nicer. We love swimming into the evening under lights. Pool was locked before and after hours. Staff was very kind and helpful. Coffee and hot water for tea and microwave outside in a hut. Pretty landscaping

Room was small but sufficient. Only one wooden sitting chair in our room. Husband said it was comfortable. No table in room for our snacks. We had to use bedside table. Trouble navigating the TV but on our second day figured it out. We were there for touring the city anyway. Close to city yet out of traffic . Was told we could see the fireworks from the easeway to the beach. Was looking forward for the 4th of July fireworks only to be disappointed. Should have driven into the town for it. Much of the city's fireworks were obstructed by trees blocking the cove where fireworks were. We were able to see a few from the island and St. Ignace however I was hoping to see a great show from the city because of the 250 yr anniversary of independence. That didn't happen from our view but overall we enjoyed our stay. No beach however campground beach is open for motel guests to enjoy if they choose for free entrance.

Room very small. Room was very stagnant. Bathroom door didn’t close. No refrigerator. Bathroom tub facet ran/dripped nonstop. Water came out of faucet brown. Huge rust stain in bathtub. Bed pillows way too flat
