My family and I liked being close to Mackinac Island but also being in a location that was away from that hustle and bustle during peak tourist season. We were able to enjoy some local activities in St. Ignace like the lighthouse, the parks/dock area, the haunted house attraction, and a concert in the evening. My family and I also enjoyed a full day in Mackinaw City hiking, enjoying the beach, taking a sunset cruise, shopping and going to Mystery Town besides spending two days over on Mackinac Island and doing all things possible over there. The house was the perfect size for the 7 people in my family. We loved that there was 4 bedrooms and 3 FULL bathrooms that made the showering and getting ready in the morning so much easier than if there would have been less than that. Each of the bathrooms had plenty of towels for all of us to use. The property had packed cabinets with all the needed kitchen items to be able to cook and put food on. I was quite surprised at the amount due to having a timeshare where often there is not much in the way of items in the kitchens. We made use of the charcoal grill outside two of the evenings we were there that is off the patio deck that we sat on every single one of the five evenings/nights we were there. TThe only non super cheesy smiley face I gave was comfort and that was really just due to myself and my family not being so used to not having full house air condition so house seemed hotter than we would like at night. The property does have window air conditioning and in all of the bedroom closets there were fans that we made use of which greatly helped to cool rooms down some. That there was two parking spaces for both of our family vehicles was another plus. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this property to others heading that direction tht do not want to spend the money to actually stay on Mackinac Island but wanting to enjoy it and the area.
It was not a huge not like as we were not in the front of the house much, but the yard in front definitely needed some TLC as it was overgrown with weeds during our end of June/early July stay.
People before us crammed their recycling in so when we put it at the curb as instructed on Thursday, not all of the recyclables made it out of the bucket when emptied by the truck.
