I really enjoyed the apartment and loved Menton!

We loved the apartment overall. The hosting/welcoming part of the experience was a little weak. Fortunately we had rented another property in the same building several years ago so we kind of knew the procedures of getting in and out and where to find free parking. The devil is always in the details so there are a few things that need looking after. There is a kitchen cabinet door that is held on by only one hinge. There isn’t much artificial lighting in the apartment but 4 of the main light bulbs in the kitchen and the living area were burned out. I realize that our rental was at the end of the peak season, but it would have been nice on arrival to have at least a few rolls of toilet paper and paper towels and hand soap to start off the stay. A future renter should know that the grand lit is not queen size. It’s somewhere between twin and queen - a little cramped for two people and very low to the floor. All apartments have their little quirks, but overall, the apartment was very nice and you cannot beat the location and the majestic historic building that houses it.

Wonderful five day break in Menton.

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 5 day break staying at the Old Palace,Menton. We took the advice of a previous occupant and used the bus from the airport to Menton. The route has changed slightly, in as much as we did not travel through Monaco on our way, but did get dropped within 100 yards of the accommodation. However, the price of the bus was quite expensive. but convenient. We used the trains for any other travel we took to Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo during out stay, which was very reasonable, reliable and the station is only less than a 5 mins walk from the apartment. Cedric the owner was very nice and when arrived was there to meet us within minutes. The apartment is situated perfectly for exploring the South of France without having to hire a car. For us the window overlooking the sea for breakfast and a glass of vino with cheese in the evening made it a perfect place to stay. We cannot wait to return in the very near future. Anne & Steve.

Always stay at this local...it's like a second home, a block off the water and a short walk into the old town with restaurants and shops all along the way. No better way to spend a sunny hour or so than being at the plage enjoying a cooling beverage.

After a brief stay a couple of years ago we returned for a week this time. It was just as we remembered it - perfectly located, clean, bright and the perfect base to move around the Riviera. Unless you really need one, don't bother with a car. The train station is five minutes' walk, and easy trips to Nice, Antibes, Italy etc. And the excellent 110 bus from Nice airport takes you to within 5 minutes of the front door (a wonderful ride it is too, along the coast and through Monaco along some of the F1 circuit). Cedric the landlord is also very friendly and helpful, and the apartment is everything you need for a simple, perfectly located stay.

Me and my family stayed here for almost four weeks and it was perfect! The apartment was very nice and clean when we arrived and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had also rented a car to get around but the apartment is also conveniently located a bus and train station so a car isn't needed. Though if you would like to travel further distances and go in the mountains of France and stop along the way it is also a great idea. The town of Menton is a beautiful place and the apartment itself is located right in front of the beach. We loved all the stores, restaurants and attractions in Menton, most definitely a spot to return to! Thank you Cedric we hope to come back soon!

Perfect!

We stayed for an all too short three nights in September 2013. The fine old building used to be a grand hotel and the apartment itself is beautifully designed and flooded with natural light. Its location is perfect: 50 meters from the sea (which you can see from the sitting room) and all the shops, bars and great restaurants you need are within a few paces. As is the casino, although we didn't have time... The owner M. Masse and his wife were charming and we would love to return. We had previously spent a week in Nice and then hired a car to move to Menton. In hindsight the car was completely unnecessary as the apartment is close to the station. You also spend a lot of time feeding meters! Menton itself is a lovely well kept town and the older part is particularly fine. We had a lovely al afresco dinner at the Balico Lounge.

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und modern eingerichtet. Sie ist sauber, ordentlich und auch die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was zum kochen gebraucht wird. Für Kleinkinder ist ein Reisebett vorhanden. Es gibt eine Strandliege, einen Sonnenschirm und auch einen Volleyball. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und man kann sich mit ihm auf englisch oder französisch unterhalten.
