The location was very peaceful and quiet. The property was a compact little bungalow with all the facilities. The owner could not have been more helpful and friendly. Had a very nice time during my 3 night stay.

The view of the loch from the window of the kitchen was great. The weather was stormy hence my booking a room as I was camping under canvas. Not ideal in high winds. The room and overall property facilities were good and worth the money.

Nice place to stay for a night.

The host was lovely and accommodating to us as we were soaked from riding to the location on the day on our bike. Helped us dry out our gear and was very pleasant.

Probably our own fault but we thought it was listed as whole place to yourself but we should have double checked when we booked.

A good stay with a lovely lady

Zeida was very welcoming and friendly. She took time to chat with us and told us where to get a good breakfast after check out, we went and had a great breakfast in a lovely spot. . She also told us about things locally . The rooms are in Zeida’s own home and she has made every effort to make it comfortable, clean and welcoming. Zeida’s belongings are in the rooms but this was not a problem for us and actually made the experience more personable and a nicer experience than a key lock Airbnb. Thank you for your hospitality Zeida.

Value for money with a shared bathroom

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It is in a quiet area so noise is not an issue. Parking out the front was easy and safe. It is good value for money. The owner was very friendly and was happy to have a chat.

The shower pressure was disappointing.

In a nice spot by the sea.

This place is fine. A two bed house. You sleep in the spare bedroom. Share bathroom with the owner. She was welcoming. Can only eat food outside. No problem in the sunshine. We stopped for breakfast at Gairloch on the way out. Very comfy bed.

One of the best places we stayed in during our trip to Scotland! Impeccably clean, cozy, and full of charm. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Everything was exactly as described – or even better! Don’t miss this gem if you’re in the area – we’d definitely come back!

Perfect stay in a beautiful area,

The Boathouse is a perfect location! Do not forget that there is no breakfast or use of kitchen.. It is clearly stated with the property, and should be clear for anyone. We were warmly greeted by the owner and we were explained everything around the house. It is a beautiful location directly at the seaside. There is a little shop in the area (walking distance). The owner is very helpful and a lovely person. The Boathouse is a perfect stay for going round the area which has a rich history, but never told... a museum is on the road towards here. There is a Hotel/restaurant nearby, but check opening times. We had a wonderful stay..

Maybe a little mirror in the bedroom, but for the rest fine for our needs...

Charming Cottage in an Ideal Setting (with an ideal host too!)

Cosy cottage in an idyllic setting. Host was so kind and accommodating, she could give us great advice about the next part of our route and the best places to stop. The whole home was clean and tidy, and our room was just exactly what we hoped for. A steal for the price.

Unfortunately the local pub is only open at the weekends so you need to drive the 5/10 mins extra for food and drinks if you're staying during the week.

Great value in a beautiful location

A very kind hostess who went above and beyond to try and make our stay enjoyable. She was very helpful and gave advice about the locality and facilities in the area. Sadly the local pub was not fully open but she had plenty of suggestions where to eat and gave advance notice of the issue

Our only problem again was to locate the house , but a friendly local helped with that !

A very comfortable overnight stay best suited to those who won’t bat an eyelid and not having hotel style privacy.

A very comfortable home stay style BnB (but without breakfast) in a beautifully quiet location. The host is extremely welcoming and the room well presented and very comfortable. I was slightly apprehensive reading some of the reviews, but I needn’t have been. I enjoyed my stay perfectly.

It wasn’t an issue for me but if you are looking for something more than a comfortable room for the night, this stay may not be for you. You can’t really eat at the property, but it’s not difficult to find somewhere on your way there whichever way round the coast you are coming provided you have google maps available to you. Be prepared there are no facilities available to you in the area without a vehicle. You need to be ok with sharing a household bathroom with the host and other guests.

Perfect overnighter.

Zeida was a lovely host, very friendly and offered advice on places to go for breakfast the next day. We only wanted a quick overnighter as we were travelling north and this suited our purpose, especially at this great price. Bed was super comfy and we had a good, quiet night's sleep. Place was not spotless but this is a home, not a hotel, and was perfectly adequate.

Conflicted... nice stay but some issues

The owner is friendly and really dedicated to help where possible. Beds were clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom worked well for us.

Apart from the beds, toilet and shower, most other things seem to be cleaned only from time to time. I would not say that it was really dirty, but the bed table or the coffe table for example were rather covered in dust, bread crumbs etc. (I am not complaining about a few flakes of dust, it was a few milimeters high in the corners, behind the lamp,...) I guess it is also a matter of personal attitude or customs, but for us it was unfortunately dirtier than a guest room should be. Nevertheless it should be mentioned that the bed, the toilet etc. were definitely sufficiently clean! As it is an overnight stay, you cannot use the cardboards etc. and you cannot use the whole room between 09:30 and 16:30 if staying more than one night. The latter should be mentioned clearly upon check-in. Unfortunately, we did not realize until the next morning (but it was not a big issue).

It was a nice stay. The landlady was welcoming and happy to advice on things to do and see around. The property is very clean, you have your own bathroom and shower.

The title clearly says "no breakfast", and there is a kitchen which you won't be allowed to use at all. That is absolutely fine, but maybe a tiny bit more elasticity according to the situation could be an option :) In our case we we had some bread and cheese to eat, so no cooking at all, but we were not even allowed to sit in the kithcen inside, and instead had to eat our stuff outside in **a lot** of wind and quite a cold temperture (it was 10pm and around 10 degrees).

Arrived 4.10pm. Note on door saying returning 4.30 - 5.00. Lady arrived 5. No apology. Felt like I was sleeping in my mother's bedroom. Booked Aultbea boathouse as it was cheapest in area. Wouldnt recommend Aultbea. Goto Ullapool or Poolewe or any other place. No eating places. No breakfast. I see breakfast was there while ago.
