We had a sublime 2 week stay in Lio's beautiful house with pre-teens and our grandma (3 generations), with our own air conditioned rooms. The pool and BBQ are brilliant, and the plunge pool is larger than expected with room for a float ;) Pool towels are provided. The village itself is incredibly beautiful albeit a bit remote. You definitely need a car to explore - Goudarges market on a Wednesday morning is brilliant. There is canoeing there as well. Nimes city is an hour by car, well worth the drive, and stop off to see the Pont du Gard on the way back. The restaurant next door and around are great, most have kids menus too. The cascades are a short walk away and kids loved jumping from the rocks into the deep water - but not easy paths if you have mobility problems. The Villa is superb with everything catered for. You will need to maintain the pool and water the plants, but I found this an enjoyable morning routine with a coffee cup at the table. There is even a hammock for relaxing in! Lio is very responsive on the phone and dropped by several times if required. Parking permit supplied by Lio so you can drive into the village itself. We loved our stay! Parki(residents etakibewarc

Lionel’s house suited us perfectly. Great, spacious living and kitchen area, with three doors to the outside, air conditioning in all rooms (which we did use in the evenings once the mosquitos came out and we had to shut windows), private secure courtyard with lovely plunge pool. We did find it a little under-provisioned - just three breakfast bowls, only four mugs etc. - but otherwise well-equipped with hob, fridge, freezer, drinks fridge, gas barbecue. Lionel greeted us on arrival to show us around and explain how to look after the pool. We got the hang of it but only request would be to perhaps have a house manual with all the instructions, Wi-Fi code (we struggled to interpret the handwritten code), location of village bins etc. La Roque sue Ceze really IS a beautiful village. We explored all the cobbled streets and the paths in the countryside around the village, including the cascades. It is super quiet and you have to drive out of the village for pretty much everything, apart from wine which we bought from the little wine shop next door. And we walked to the pizzeria down by the cascades a couple of evenings. We didn’t eat in the restaurant next door so can’t comment on that.

Amazing place!
Amazing place!
Pictures don’t do justice to this amazing place and we felt like home straight away. Lionel was there to welcome us and explain everything regarding the property and was very helpful during our stay. The whole house is very comfortable and the living area with the open plan kitchen is a generous size. Air conditioning throughout helped during the heatwave mid June not to mention the swimming pool which was bigger than expected or seen on the photos and the whole place is very secure and peaceful. BBQ is a plus :) And unlimited ice from the American style fridge/ freezer is a bonus too. Just a tip for other guests is to bring salt, oil, washing liquid and a sponge when arriving if they are used to it normally in a rental. There are dishwasher tablets provided but if you like to wash couple of dishes by hand then you will miss them. Towels, bed linen, toilet paper, kitchen towels are provided. Parking was just in front of the gates but there were also more spaces available nearby and Lionel provided parking permit for us to use. All in all this is a place to recommend and enjoy! Beautiful house, idyllic village and welcoming owner
Beautiful house, idyllic village and welcoming owner
The gate from the street opens to reveal a secluded spacious patio, corner pool and a stylish, open-plan house with well-equipped kitchen, dining space and comfortable seating area. Three comfortable bedrooms, two with en suites, overlook the patio with its olive tree, luxuriant plants, table and seating and sun beds. Lionel could not have been more accessible and responsive and helped us enormously following an unfortunate accident. We would love to return.

Great house in a charming location
Great house in a charming location
Located right in the centre of charming stone built town, the house offered all modern conveniences and provided a wonderful retreat after a day exploring the area. Lionel, the owner, was friendly and very quick to respond to any questions etc. Thank you Lionel. The house itself is quite spacious, of a modern design, although a little worn in places, but water pressure is great, there is highspeed internet, TV etc, and excellent aircon (downstairs and in each bedroom), which is needed as it gets pretty hot in summer. Actually, I think the stone walls kept downstairs quite cool even without AC. Outside there is a small swimming pool for cooling off. A beautiful olive tree and canopy that provides a lovely setting for outdoor dining. If you are feeling a little lazy and why not, then there is a restaurant 5 metres up the street! Only residents can park in the town and parking places are restricted, but we never failed to find a park outside the house everyday. Being on a street, there is noise from people and occasional cars passing of course, but the town itself empties in the evenings as the non-residents leave, meaning the nights are quite quiet. If anything, the sounds of kids splashing in the pool during the afternoon probably tortured those passing by! Overall, we were very satisfied with the house itself and together with the charming location, we would certainly recommend to others.

Great house and great surroundings
Great house and great surroundings
We really enjoyed our one week stay in Lionels house. We were two adults and two children (age 9 and 10) and had plenty of space. It’s a very modern and stylish house with a rustique exterior and a lovely patio with a nicely shaped pool and an old olive tree. All bedrooms and the kithenarea have separate AC:s which was very nice when the outside-temperature rose above 40 degrees. The property was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool and the plants on the patio needed some attention with watering and running the circulation-pump and refilling of chlore which only took a couple of minutes a day and that we were happy to do. The house is located in the middle of the small and beautiful village close to a nice restaurant and a small wine-shop. Parking is i the street and was no problem for us with a rather small car but could be somewhat more of an issue with a large car. The house and the village is situated very near the River Ceze and the Sautadet waterfalls with very nice bathing. There are also a couple of more restaurants within walking distance. There are nice roads around the village for morning runs surrounded by vineyards. Roughly 3 km’s away there is a vendor of fresh fruit and vegetables and the closest grocery-store is roughly 7 km away. The village is situated in a region with many opportunities within an hours drive. We visited the Ardeche river and Pont d’Arc, the Salamander cave and the Valrhona choclate-factory for example. In all, we had a great time in Lionels fantastic house and hope that we will get back here some day. We strongly recommend this house!

KAREN T.A BEAUTIFUL HOME IN A FABULOUS LOCATION 5 of 5This is the second time myself and my husband and our, 2 German Shepherd dogs have stayed at La Grange and we had yet another fantastic holiday there. The house is ideally located in the centre of La Roque sur Ceze, a very beautiful hill top village surrounded by stunning countryside and only 10 minutes walk to La Cascades, stunning natural waterfalls. However, the best thing about the location of the farmhouse is that it is located next door to La Ceze Restaurant, an outstanding restaurant run by Philippe and Karine, who are just the best possible hosts. The service is superb and the food is some of the best we have ever tasted and is without doubt, in our opinion, the best restaurant not just in La Roque sur Ceze but in the whole region. In fact we enjoyed eating in the restaurant so much that we ate there every evening while we were there, that the restaurant was open!!! ( a total of 12 nights of our 14 night stay!!!) Every meal was delicious, but our favourite was undoubtedly Le Cote de Beouf!!! Also the deserts are to die for!!!The house itself has a very contemporary feel to it. It is all open plan on the ground floor with a large well equipped kitchen and dining area and a lovely lounge area. Upstairs there are 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 modern bathrooms. Also the cleanliness in the house is of a very high standard. The pool and garden area is fully enclosed, so great for us with our dogs. The house would be good to rent at any time of year as it also has a huge log burner in the lounge to use in the winter months and is very close to Bagnols sur Ceze and Goudargues were there are restaurants, shops and other facilities that are open all year round.Lionel, the owner, yet again could not have been more welcoming and did everything he could possibly do to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Thank you Lionel for helping to make our stay at the La Grange so special and memorable. If you are thinking of booking this property for a holiday, do not hesitate book it!!! You will not be disappointed....
