We stayed here for 4 days recently while touring France. It's a fairly basic, but cosy, wood cabin with a hugely effective burner that heats the whole place, and a shower with PLENTY of piping hot water. There is a BBQ whose grills need a clean, and a very basic oven. There's a toaster, crockery etc. We booked towels (10EUR pp) well in advance of our stay but they'd been forgotten, so we had to go for dinner after 12 hours travelling without a shower, not great. However, once I reminded the host over VRBO chat, they left some while we're at dinner.There's a weak mobile signal here, quite nice to get away from it all but there were a couple of times I needed Internet access and had to drive out of this area to get a strong enough signal. The main issue was on the last night, we were having dinner and the host came down and said we had to leave as it was already our last day, despite our checkout being the next morning! We ended up having to show him the date on our phones to prove we had one more night paid for. It was a genuine mistake by the host but it raised serious privacy concerns that the host can just come to the cabin unannounced like that and it's the main reason I'd not stay again, despite feeling comfy in the property itself. If you have a sports car check you can pass the track, which is a farm track. I have a GT4 and it was grounding out at times. This should probably be mentioned in the advert. Overall, a nice, but not perfect, stay.

Such a lovely house in quit surroundings. It’s a 5 minute walk to the pool. The interior and kitchen were basic but everything was there. There were a lot of flies in the house when we arrived, after killing them we closed the doors and windows and it was ok! Beds ok, nice view, surrounded by the horses and some sheep. We enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous log cabins and lovely peaceful location if you want to get away from it all. Just go careful regarding the cleaning options. We stayed for one night en route elsewhere and the following weekend 2 nights on our way back to England. On our arrival the 1st time the place was not that clean. It didn't bother us too much, especially as we were only staying around 12 hours, we just cleaned up a bit before we left. We left it cleaner than we found it. On our 2nd stay the owners paid us a visit and very politely asked us to clean this time as last time we'd left it in a mess. I explained it was a mess when we arrived and we certainly left it cleaner than when we arrived. They did not accept this. Not a complete disaster but it marred the stay for me and left a bad taste in my mouth. I suppose all I'm saying is that if you choose the option to clean yourself, instead of paying their cleaner 40 euros, you need to do an inventory on arrival and make sure you go to the owners if it is not clean. Or take photographs when you arrive to prove how you found it/left it.

Perfect, bright two floor cottage with super equipped kitchen. Stayed there middle of February with cold temperature and snow. The wood oven in the living room heated the house well and the el. radiator in the bathroom was also needed after the hot (spacious rain) shower. The tailed floor was very cold (warm slippers were essential) could use some carpets and the living room would have space enough for a little bigger and more compfy couch. The sauna cottage is seperate and not with el. oven. You need to start a wood fire which doesnt really do the job of getting to 70 degrees and it takes some efforts to start it and go to get the wood from the shed. The village was asleep. We met two people in five days. There is one tobacco store, supermarket, butcher, bakery but all with different op ning hours. Plan ahead! Endless walks through forests, winyards and open fieldsand neversaw a soul.... Nice stay!

What can I say about this trip ... there is so many things good about it , Lets start with the house !! - Amazing and very spacious open area - Living room is very comfortable !! - Kitchen is quite handy .. - Toilets is very good e very interested too .. About the rooms ... - very cosy -Bed is excellent size Outside things to do .. we have loved the idea to have to go up to the farm and get some wood for burning , animals are so kind too . about the sauna .. we have spent so much time having sauna in this place like never , its a proper sauna and you have to put some wood to burn and keeping very hot ( we have reached at 100" c ) amazing thing .. Everyday we had some jogging around the field ( vineyard) and ate a lot grapes too !! ( Dont tell Mr . Mrs Ruppert okay ) You must ask for taste session ( Wine) . Well !! I wont tell more otherwise it will spoil it . Honestly it was one of the top 3 best trips ever .. Mr Ruppert and Mrs Ruppert are very kind and very helpfull .. we made our trip from Scotland ( Whitburn ) , it a bit far away , but it was worth it !! I hope we can return to this place once again soon .. Thank you very very very much for all Mr. Mrs. Ruppert Well done you all !!! Godbye !!

The photos do not do it justice. The space was much larger than expected. We loved the local area too. Beautiful scenery is everywhere you look. And the picturesque town of Essoyes is a 20 minute walk away with two good bakeries and 3 restaurants. My only suggestion for the house would be to have portable fans available in the bedrooms. It was very hot when we visited and the temperature in the bedrooms was quite uncomfortable at night.

My family and I had a great week in a lovely peaceful location in rural Champaign. Hosts were fantastic and made our stay very relaxed. The kids loved the pool, the animals and staying in a log cabin. I hope we will be back soon.

The log house was exactly as we expected with everything we needed for a restful week in Champagne. M et Mme Ruppert were really helpful and nothing was too much bother for them including a tour of the cellar and taking our kids on a pony ride. Their old dog Joch often came to visit us too! The swimming pool was crystal clear and well looked after and we had it to ourselves for the holiday. The house was clean and well fitted out and the beds were comfortable. I would highly recommend this house if you want a quiet holiday away from it all. Thank you Ruppert family!

The chalet was very spacious and clean with a beautiful view on the vineyards. The dégustation that the owners arranged for us was very interesting and fun. The owners are very welcoming and their dog is adorable. The park is very quiet and because there are only two chalets on the park you have a lot of privacy. It was good to have a swimming pool and a sauna at our disposal. We would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt und haben es sehr genossen. Wer Luxus oder die absolute Reinheit erwartet ist hier falsch. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und gut aufgeteilt, die Landschaft und die Aussicht wundervoll. Die Sauna macht, mir ein wenig Arbeit vorweg, richtig Spaß. Der Hof mit den Tieren ist sehr schön. Unsere Kinder konnten sich völlig frei auf dem gesamten Gelände bewegen und hatten unglaublich viel Spaß. Alles sehr authentisch. Empfehlung!

Si la perspective d'une déconnexion urbaine et d'un dépaysement ont été pleinement remplis, le logement s'est révélé veillot, peu entretenu et pas très propre : - 3 serpentins tue-mouches remplis d'insectes en place depuis de nombreuses semaines (remplacés le lendemain de notre arrivée et à notre départ 13j plus tard comptabilisant seulement 2 mouches) Lde plus, en terme d'aménagement le chalet est tout juste dimensionné pour 1 couple avec 1 enfant (et non 5 personnes) Nous avons honoré la facturation des options linge de lit et de toilette malgré des serviettes élimées ainsi que le ménage de fin de séjour. Enfin, accueil cordial mais peu chaleureux.

Die Blockhäuser sind sehr schön und gemütlich. Die Kleine Küche hat alles, was man braucht. Es liegt total ruhig am Hang mit einer schönen Sicht ins Tal. Die Sauna ist mit Holzofen und kann jederzeit genutzt werden. Am Pool und bei den Tieren kann man mit der Familie eine angenehme Zeit verbringen. Der Gastgeber ist außergewöhnlich nett. Das Haus ist noch schöner, als auf den Bildern und sehr sauber, die Küche ist mit mehr ausgestattet, als man braucht. Es ist wunderbar ruhig, die Kinder konnten sich auf dem gesamten Gelände frei bewegen und waren gerne bei den Tieren. Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich, entspannt und diskret. Selbst die Tiere (Kaninchen, Wachteln, Schafe, Ponys) sind relaxt. Den warmen und sauberen Pool erreichten wir durch Überquerung der Pferdekoppel und konnten ihn jederzeit nutzen, selbst die mit Feuer zu heizende Sauna und den Ofen haben wir angemacht und von Gérad Holz bekommen. (Es war für uns im Sommer ausreichend warm.) Beeindruckend war auch die kostenfreie Champagnerführung/ -Verköstigung. Hier wird alles natürlich und mit Hand liebevoll gemacht. Im Sommer sind überall viele fliegende, teilweise sehr große Insekten (ist eben ein Hof). Allerdings sind wir kaum gestochen worden, mussten nur für die Nacht darauf achten, alle wegen der Geräuschentwicklung zu entfernen. In der Umgebung ist „wenig los“, was für uns super war: Wir haben Ruhe gesucht und gefunden.

Prachtig gelegen karakteristiek houten huis. We hebben hier een heerlijk verblijf gehad. Mooi weer, dus hebben we gebruik gemaakt van het zwembad dat naast het huis van de eigenaren is gelegen. Fijne ligstoelen en parasol aanwezig. Het domein van de eigenaren ligt prachtig op een heuvelrug. Je hebt een weids uitzicht over de bossen en wijngaarden. Onze kinderen waren regelmatig te vinden bij de dieren, de paarden mochten geborsteld worden. De schapen kregen het oude brood. En we hebben een kleine rondleiding en uitleg gehad van de eigenaresse over hun champagne-boerderij. Hele fijne gastvrije mensen met veel liefde voor de natuur!

Wij hebben een weekje vakantie gevierd in deze vrijstaande blokhut (foto's kloppen met de werkelijkheid) samen met onze 3 kinderen en de hond. Heerlijk relaxed. Het verwarmde zwembad is 150m verderop in de achtertuin van Gérard en Monique die heel vriendelijk en gastvrij zijn. We hebben geen gebruik gemaakt van de sauna.

‘Als u aankomt dan zit de sleutel in de deur, het is de eerste van de twee woniningen’. U kunt gewoon naar binnen’.’ Daar begon een prachtige week in Essoyes mee. Begin van de avond komt de aimabele eigenaar even kennismaken, vragen of alles naar wens is en nog even toelichten hoe bij het zwembad te komen. Na het uitpakken met een glas rose op het terras genieten van het uitzicht de ‘berg’ af, uitkijkend over wijnvelden en bossen. Het is er letterlijk en figuurlijk stil. Een prachtige plek in de natuur. Enige wat je hoort is het ruisen van de bomen en het kraken van hout. En af en toe een van de paarden die in de wei achter het huis lopen. Geen Wifi, nauwelijks sprake van een 3G laat staan 4G verbinding. Even terug zoals vakantie vroeger was. In de woning is alles aanwezig voor een prettig verblijf. Het dorp zelf kent een paar leuke kleine restaurantjes, een supermarktje en natuurlijk alles over Renoir. Als je op zoek bent naar rust en alle drukte even achter je wilt laten. Dan is dit een aanrader. De heer en mevrouw Ruppert zijn prima gastheer en gastvrouw en zullen u allerhartelijkst verwelkomen.

Comme toujours depuis que nous venons à Essoyes chez M. Ruppert, ça se passe très bien : le logement est très bien agencé et équipé. Nous avons eu un problème d'eau chaude, M. Ruppert est arrivé en quelques minutes et a réglé le problème. Ca se passe toujours très simplement et de façon très agréable. Nous reviendrons encore et encore.
