This is a charming house broken up into 3 rentals, that is a short walk from the town water front. It is a short driving distance from all the D-Day sites, and the beautiful Mont Saint Michael is about an hour away. The host was easy to talk too and responsive.

The gite was so bright and welcoming as we walked through the door we could immediately relax after many days of travelling.It is ideally situated for visiting the DDay beaches and other destinations such as Bayeau.A minutes drive away is a Carrefour and another minute further and you are in the pretty village of Grandchamp-Maisy.Here you will find a daily fish market,not to be missed. After a day of touring the sites it was great to return to our little home away from home.

Nice house, quietly located close to the harbour of the village and centrally located for numerous visits to historical sites. The interior looks bigger in the pictures than in real but is definitely sufficent for 4 persons. When 6, 2 additional persons have to sleep on sleep couch in living area, that does not look like superconvenient (we were just 2). Lots of natural light coming in. Garden south/south-west located. Big parking space. We had a nice stay.

We enjoyed a pleasant stay here. The location was very nice, on the edge of a quiet but comfortable Normandy seaside town. We enjoyed visiting the town and seaside, along with some of the nearby Normandy sites. Highly enjoyed one of the restaurants in town recommended by the hosts. The house was nice and met our needs very well. We enjoyed eating on the patio, sitting on the lawn, and watching the birds. The parking was convenient, which was a big consideration to us as our drive to this place was our first time driving in France. The hosts communicated well and were helpful with our needs.

A Very Positive VRBO Experience in Normandy

We wanted to locate close to the Normandy landing beaches and found this house to perfectly satisfy our requirements. The owners renovated the house in 2016, and it provides a quiet environment, serviceable kitchen with all the basic appliances, and comfortable living and sleeping accommodations. For example, outside temperatures were chilly (7 – 9 Celsius), and the house radiator heating system worked beautifully. Pictures on the VRBO web site accurately illustrate the property. Other positive features of the house include off-street parking in a gated driveway right next to the house entrance and hedges encircling the lot which provide privacy. Also, the house is located less than 2 kilometers from a nicely stocked super market. Finally, when departing, you have the option of cleaning the house yourself or paying an 80 Euro cleaning fee. We highly recommend this property.

This home was clean, decorated and designed nicely, and provided everything you needed to feel comfortable during a stay in the Normandy region. Toys inside and outside for kids (including a playhouse and riding toys), kitchen supplies, etc. It is five minutes from Point du Hoc and a grocery store. One and a half hours to Montb Saint Michel. We stayed there with my sister and her family who stayed in the adjoining rental. Plenty of parking space right next to the house. The only thing I didn’t love about this place is that they charge an 80 euro cleaning fee (not included in the initial price listed)- that you don’t know about until you arrive- that if you don’t want to pay for, requires you to clean the whole house- floors, have dishes washed and put away, and sheets off. We did this because we didn’t want to spend the extra money on cleaning, but it would have been nice to know about it up front and factored a thorough cleaning time into our plans.

The apartment is spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated, well appointed and extremely comfortable. There is plenty of parking and it's easy to find. The owners responded to our request within a few hours and were easy to get in touch with. The house has a beautiful yard and an outdoor dining table. Everything from the pillows to the kitchen appliances is new. Thank you for being such gracious hosts. We will return when we can stay longer!

Wir haben uns von Anfang an in der toll eingerichteten Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und alles wie un der Beschreibung vorhanden. DievKommunikation mit dem Vermieter war unkompliziert. Grandcamp Maisy ist eher weniger touristisch, der Strand zum Baden weniger einladend. Dazu fuhren wur dann an den Omaha Beach nach Colleville Sur Mer. Für Ausflüge und die Erkundung der westlichen Normandie eignet sich der Standort bestens. Der Fischmarkt, die beiden Bäckereien und Restaurants haben wir getestet und für sehr gut befunden. Im Ortsteil Maisy sind Selbstbedienungsautomaten mit regionalen Produkten. (Obst, Gemüse, Fleisch, Eis, Brot, etc). Auch das haben wir genutzt. Fazit: Wer den touristiscjen Troubel nicht mag, ist hier bestens untergebracht.

On s'est senti presque comme à la maison. Idéalement situé. Nous avons fait des balades jusqu'à la Pointe du Hoc, avons longé Omaha Beach pour rejoindre sur les hauteurs le cimetière américain ❤️. Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus, dessen Küchenmöbel allerdings in die Jahre gekommen sind. Die Geräte sind prima und neu, aber in den Schränken fehlen teilweise die Einlegeböden und die Türen sind klapprig. Das WC wirkt neu gemacht, hängt aber sehr hoch (nur die Fußspitzen berührten noch den Boden) und ist sehr eng. Kleine Kinder benötigen vermutlich ein Höckerchen. Sehr gestört hat uns der Geruch in dem einen Schlafzimmer (mit dem 1,4m-Bett), der vermutlich vom Kanal kommt. Der Geruch ist am Wandschrank (Vorhang anstelle einer Tür) am stärksten gewesen, der direkt an die Toilette angrenzt. Der Garten ist wunderschön und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Aber auch für Kinder ist ein Kinderspielhaus vorhanden und es gibt Boccia und Bälle und anderes Spielzeug. Waschmaschine und Trockner befinden sich in einem separaten Raum, zu dem alle 3 Wohneinheiten Zutritt haben. Enttäuscht waren wir vom nahegelegenen Strand. Der Strand war schmutzig und gar nicht einladend. Der Ort eignet sich aber prima als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Umgebung.

Prima woning, zeer vriendelijke host. Helpt graag met tips voor restaurants, waar heen te gaan etc. Heeft zelfs nog spontaan geholpen met een tip waar we Ajax-Tottenham konden kijken! Huisje is mooi schoon, bedden slapen prima (de 4 vaste, slaapbank niet gebruikt). Keuken is klein, maar alles is er. Mooie grote pannen! Royale tuin, lekker buiten zitten kan, barbecue is er ook. Iedere dag is er een vismarkt in het dorpje (let wel: de 3e grootste vishaven van Normandië!). Verder prima supermarkt (Carrefour) en 2 bakkerijen. Aanrader om te eten: La Trinquette! Instapmenu van 29 euro, supermenu van 39. Naast veel vis ook vlees voor de niet-vis-eter. Tips voor de verhuurder: wat grotere thee-glazen zijn handig. En de WiFi was bij ons wel wat langzaam (voor email en YouTube prima, maar voor Netflix of TV-app te langzaam)
