Gîte « Au bord des Embruns »

L’emplacement, l’équipement. Les hôtes ont même pensé au guide d’accueil très appréciable. Nous attendait du papier toilette, du café, des filtres, un tire-bouchon, des glaçons…, Vous n’avez à penser à rien, tout était parfait et le bonus la plage à moins de 2 min à pied.

I asked for the key code the night before as we were travelling all day and I don't then have internet connection. That is why I asked. The host said he wouldn't give it me until I arrived. To be fair, he didn't know, but why not let me have it? The money was paid in full and unrefundable. He did email it during the day but of course I couldn't pick up that message until we got into the apartment and onto the wifi. We had to phone him when we arrived outside and await a call back, which duly came. We had bought food to self cater and were dismayed to find not a single knife fork or spoon to eat with. Ate in town. Food therefore wasted as travelling home. The outside space a real disappointment and not at all like the pictures. No low wall, a scruffy patch of grass and weeds and two picnic tables squashed side by side next to what is a laundry room. After being unable to cook we then learn we have to clean the surfaces, the floors, the entire place after one night or leave E15, which we did. We also left the place spotless and the owner, on finding it thus, offered our money back. How? A bit late for that. We can't see any mention of this payment on the Booking.com site. Okay after a week maybe but a night and no chance of cooking? Not impressed,sadly. And they had made a great job of the flat.
