About this house rental
Bookings run strictly from Saturday to Saturday between April and October; shorter stays are possible during the off-season.
"La Salamandrine": a 4-bedroom house (3 bedrooms with 160 x 200 cm beds; 1 mezzanine bedroom with a 140 x 200 cm bed, accessible via a steep, space-saving staircase—ideal for teenagers). 3 bathrooms and 3 toilets (including two en-suite). Quiet location on the heights above Sarlat, offering a magnificent, unobstructed south-facing view of the surrounding hills and the town; set on an enclosed plot of approximately 600 m². Sarlat's historic center is 500 meters away and easily accessible via a small footpath. House size: approximately 120 m² with all modern comforts: air conditioning in the living room and bedrooms, electric roller shutters in the living room, an electric awning on the terrace, an American-style fridge-freezer, and three large south-facing electric sliding glass doors.
Pleasant south-facing living area with direct access to the terrace and swimming pool.
Terraces (approx. 100 m²) and garden.
Outdoor corner sofa.
Large, beautiful swimming pool (15 m x nearly 6 m), heated from mid-April; south-facing, private (not overlooked), with sun loungers. Solar-powered outdoor shower (hot water) near the pool. Saltwater pool: gentle on the skin and non-irritating to the eyes (unlike chlorine).
Spa (Jacuzzi) available upon request (please note: this equipment may occasionally experience technical issues).
Built-in charcoal barbecue or gas plancha, table tennis, foosball, and outdoor pool table. Layout:
Terrace level: living room with a large corner sofa (convertible into a bed), large satellite TV (130 cm screen), Wi-Fi (in the house and by the pool), open-plan kitchen, and bathroom with toilet and laundry area.
Second section of the house – an adjoining annex (unheated in winter): includes one ground-floor bedroom (160 x 120 cm bed, located in a former conservatory).
Bonus: a fourth bedroom on an enclosed mezzanine level (see photos); low ceiling height—ideal for teenagers as access is via a ladder; fixed window (non-opening); 140 x 200 cm bed.
First floor: two master suites, each with a 160 cm wide bed, two windows, and a private toilet and shower room.
Sleeps up to 10 people.
Parking for 2 or 3 cars (space for up to 4 is possible).
Board games, large-screen TV. Wi-Fi available inside the house and by the pool.
Bed linen and towels available as an optional extra upon request (not included in the standard rate).
The shower room is located in the hallway of the main house.
The two sections of the house are separated only by a door.
Enclosed grounds with a remote-controlled electric gate.

We had a great stay in Sarlat. Sophie was very helpful and anything that was not working was quickly fixed. The pool is amazing and it is very easy to reach the centre. The accommodation is slightly rustic but still comfortable.

Lovely house with aircon in each bedroom. Good size pool with good water quality. Much appreciated the table tennis, football table and games in the house. Nice BBQ. Helpful, friendly hosts who were keen to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you.

We booked this villa for the 3 weeks before Christmas, and couldn't have found anywhere better. It is obviously very new, extremely well equipped...toilet rolls, cleaning materials, cloths, tea towels, Krupps coffee maker, to be fair everything we could want. It was lovely weather while we were there, sunny every day, and the villa is south facing, to the sun streams in through the 3 sets of pation doors overlooking the pool, lovely. There is heating and air conditioning, but we only needed the heating on a night when the temperature dropped to -2! There is a 8kg washer and tumble dryer which were handy as we were there 3 weeks, but it was so sunny we could dry washing near the doors it was so hot.Obviously we didn't use the pool, but it really was lovely, and heated too in summer, with lovely views over Sarlat, sun beds, table and chairs, inflatables etc. The position of the villa is excellent, we walked into Sarlat most days with our dog, only 10 mins easy walk, and there is a grassy path near the villa which is even quicker, maybe 5 mins, but a bit muddy in Winter if you're going out for the evening. Close to all the tourist attractions, but no need to drive through Sarlat when it is busy in summer.So if you are looking for a well positioned villa, this is the place for you. Thank you Etiene and Jean for all of your help, and making sure we were warm and comfortable during our stay.The villa is very spacious, clean and modern, the shower rooms are small but perfectly adequate, good showers, plenty of hot water, good sized bedrooms with nice views.
