About this house rental
Welcome to Whispering Pines on Lake Superior, our family's chosen name for this paradise on the lake!
You'll experience true relaxation in this gorgeous contemporary featuring 4+ acres of wooded privacy, 393 feet of Lake Superior shoreline, and a huge 60' x 60' L-shaped dock! Spend hours of uninterrupted time on one of three benches situated at various points along the bluff, all providing stunning views of the lake and at least five of the Apostle Islands. Or hike down the 76 steps to the water level and soak in the sun on our dock.
The home is a spectacular four bedroom, four full bath contemporary with Scandinavian styling, and was formerly operated as a Bed & Breakfast. The huge open family room and dining area boasts an 18-foot high custom ceiling beam, a massive glass wall overlooking the lake, maple floors, skylights, and a loft floored with Wisconsin knotty pine. Spiral staircases are the finishing touch that make this home a one-of-a-kind architectural masterpiece.
The main kitchen is well-equipped, with a new refrigerator and microwave, a gas island range, dishwasher, both Keurig and standard coffee makers, and endless cabinets!
All four bedrooms have amazing lake views, and each bedroom has its own full bathroom with shower. The fourth bedroom is a large suite with its own full kitchenette, living area, and loft bedroom - perfect for grandparents who want a little added privacy! The suite also has a murphy bed on the ground floor.
Step outside and you're surrounded by old-growth forest and wildlife. Bald eagles nest nearby, and the deer and songbirds are plentiful. The property has even been visited by an occasional bear and bobcat! The large deck includes a gas grill and generous 8-seat table overlooking the big lake and Basswood Island.
Within ten short minutes, you're in the center of Bayfield, a town honored by national publications for its restaurants, marina, shopping, entertainment, and overall charm. Go on a glass-bottom boat tour and visit nearby shipwrecks, visit the sea caves by kayak, take the ferry to Madeline Island, or experience one of Bayfield's many events such as the famous Apple Festival in October. You won't run out of fun things to do!

Went on a "siblings weekend" with 6 adults total. The property was beautiful and had amazing sunrises. The property supplied everything that we needed. The host Karen was very responsive to any questions that we had. Lots of brochures in the home with things to do around the Bayfield area. We went to Madeline Island on the Ferry one day which was a first for 4 members of our group. We had a wonderful weekend with PERFECT weather!

We enjoyed our visit at the Secluded Hideaway. It is very clean, spacious with a well stocked kitchen for preparing meals. We enjoyed the outdoor fire table and dock on Lake Superior.Hope to return sgain.
