About this cottage rental
Welcome to the Bayfield Fruit Loop Retreat! This booking includes the rental for both cottages together to have the entire property to yourself. Featuring two newly remodeled cottages, themed after Bayfield and Apostle Islands, nestled in 7 acres of private woods right in Bayfield, WI. The property allows you to savor a peaceful and quiet northwoods experience but still minutes from several attractions and downtown Bayfield.
The property is conveniently located just 5 minutes' drive or 2.5 miles from the center of downtown Bayfield. Located right on county Hwy J, a starting point for a self-guided tour around the city of Bayfield where an exploration of local food culture begins of several family apple orchards, fruit farms, and wineries, called the Bayfield fruit loop, and the origin of our property name.
Enjoy exploring Lake Superiors south shore with various hiking trails, mountain biking, public beaches and state parks, take the Bayfield Ferry to Madeline Island by foot of car. See the Apostle Islands Sea caves through kayaking or guided site seeing cruises (seasonal) there is so much to explore.
Featuring the Main Cottage with a one thousand square foot wrap around deck and outdoor dining in front, the queen master bedroom offers French doors that bring you to the back deck to two outdoor lounge chairs perfect to relax and have a morning cup of coffee while the morning sun rises. The living room has two huge unique panoramic reflective windows surrounding you, giving you views of the northwoods and wildlife (reflective windows means you can see outside, but the wildlife cant see in!) The main cottage also has a full kitchen and bathroom with a skylight and heat fan, vaulted ceilings throughout the cottage giving plenty of natural light. Cozy up next to the propane fireplace/stove in the living room while you enjoy the wooded views.
Our Rock Garden Cottage begins with a view of our rock garden as you drive up, a beautiful perennial garden, as well as an outdoor firepit surrounded by cedar chips and solar lit tiki torches. As you enter the 2-level cottage the main level bedroom has two queen beds comfortably sleeping four. Up the stairs the 2nd level offers a large walk in closet, spacious bathroom with granite countertops, a large walk-in Italian marble shower with complimentary toiletries, heat fan and towel warmer, great in the cooler months. Two windows show a view overlooking the rock garden. On the other half of the 2nd floor there is an open layout kitchen- living room with high ceilings, electric fireplace perfect to get cozy in front of, futon that converts down to make a full bed, and large 3-window view of the woods brings in a lot of natural light.
This property has 2 security cameras to ensure the safety of the guests, neighbors, and the home.

Beautiful landscaping, amenities, and comfort. Every detail covered including kitchen spices, makeup remover, q tips, bathroom sprays, games, and more. We were very comfortable and the views out of all the windows were amazing. We rented both cabins and though the Rock Cabin Cottage had more sleeping space for our family, the Main Cottage was more luxurious with the deck, furniture, propane fire pit, and patio lights. The only consideration I would recommend someone giving some thought to is that the Rock cottage has stairs going up to the living space and then the bedroom is on ground level. In my case stairs are fine, but not when your legs are sore from hiking. One other issue that might be a bit much is that before leaving, dishes needed to be washed, dried, and put away, and linens taken up, which for the fees added, seems like a lot of work. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

Not 5 star but appropriate for a cabin in the woods experience. Well maintained and clean. Check-in and out was simple and efficient. Ownership was there if we needed it but wasn't required during our stay. Thanks for a nice stay!

We absolutely loved this property. We had both cabins. Clean and well appointed! Had everything and more that we needed for our stay. Hosts responded quickly with any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!
