Like that the room was spacious enough for my family. The bathroom was also modern and we liked that it included a bathroom and a shower. The staff was also very helpful washing our cutlery and trousers that required cleaning each day

I do not recommend the Garden Cottage until such time that it has been upgraded.

This accommodation is advertised as Constantia , but it is really in Plumstead as it is right on Plumstead's border. I booked 5 nights in the Self-catering Garden Cottage. I booked out after 3 nights, forfeiting the 2 nights paid for, as I could not stay in the Garden cottage any longer. The cottage is very dated, very very basic and in need of a total upgrade. The shower has no glass fitting around it, and as a result the whole bathroom is flooded after your shower when you open the shower for a steady stream of water. We had to dry the floor every night after each one of us had a shower. The towels we were given were quite old. All the cupboards has a mold, damp smell , as a result I did not hang my clothes in them for fear that the mold will get into my clothes. This same mold smell was in the kitchen cupboards where we had to store our food, and this smell was the worst in the cutlery draw. I had to boil water to soak the cutlery and crockery first before I could use it. The fridge and stove in this garden cottage are very very old and I did not trust to use the oven as a result. The TV was not working (for which the receptionist apologised). I am only writing this review for the garden cottage and not for any other rooms in this guesthouse. I don't think guests should be made to pay for this kind of accommodation. The cottage has a lot of potential but needs a total upgrade.

Location was close to where I needed to be and its a nice area.

Same hot breakfast every morning, no choices on the hot breakfasts and its extra. No feather pillows and pillows in room werent super comfortable. Asked the lady the 2nd day to ensure they dont open my windows as there are mosquitos and the 2nd last day they opened all my windows again and I didnt sleep well again due to the mosquitos. Lighting is quite dim in the room and no smart tv so only dstv.

Very welcoming and an oasis of calm after the madness of the city.

Breakfast was very good - lots of choice. The property was beautiful and well-cared for and we felt very safe. You do need transport but that is reflected in the price of the accommodation. All the staff were very helpful and kind and I would be very happy to return.

Long weekend at Thomson's

Free to come and go at ease, and the room was extremely spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

The communal fridge is not ideal. The room and hallway could do with more pictures on the walls.

One of the amazing stay so far in SA.

Location is sub optimal (Bit far from a market), but property is excellent. The staff is very corrdial and the owner is awesome. They are ready to help you in all way. Value for moeny. One air con in summer will help. Though being ground floor rooms it is manageble in general.

When we were a little late for the breakfast, the staff were always accommodating with making toast. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

The mosquitos were out in full force, possible because of the rain, and the one repellant machine was insufficient.

Beautiful but lacks service

The location was nice, place is beautiful.

1. Absolutely no back up for loadshedding, not even ups for wifi. 2. Breakfast consisted of cereal, yoghurt and bread, no eggs or bacon or even a slice cold meat. No pot of coffee to welcome you in the morning, the machine is there, but make your own!!! 3. Not a flask or anything to keep water warm for coffee if you want to prepare for loadshedding to at least enjoy a cup of coffee. 4. We are so use to n small fridge, keep milk cold or leftovers fresh, microwave in rooms these days but here there is only a small fridge in wallway between 4 rooms.. therefore only cremora in rooms. 5. Receptionist phoned me to say there is a late penalty fee if you check in after nine, but on the bookings it says you can check in till 10. Luckily i was there round 8. 6. We never saw anybody from the thursday after check in,till the sunday. We didnt know how or where to put keys etc with check out 7. Unfortunately here we felt we were just there to fill the rooms and spent as little on us as possible.

Photos on website very deceiving; thought the room would be a bit bigger.

The location was perfect; Breakfast was very simple; could of had a little bit of cold meats and variety of cheese.

It was a very comfortable stay with wonderful staff. I would stay again.

The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to assist guests. The rooms were clean and spacious. Location excellent.

I think with recurring load shedding issues in South Africa, the guest house should install LED chargeable globes to their light fixtures so that guests can experience the comfort of at i look east having lights on when the power goes out.

amazing week in CT, will definitely come stay again

the room was very spacious. I was so happy to see there was so much cupboard space to unpack our clothes - felt like home. The bathroom was also nice and spacious. and the little fridge right outside our room was a bonus - to keep Cool drinks, water and food.

there was nothing I didn’t like.
