About this cottage rental

Lovingly restored 18th Cent. traditional fisherman s cottage in Crovie Conservation Village. This 3 Star Visitscotland Approved self-catering cottage sleeps 6 people in a very high degree of comfort. Underfloor heating, washer/dryer, shower, bath, cooker, microwave, DVD, free wifi, iPod dock.

A beautiful cottage with outstanding views, "Number 13" has to be seen to be enjoyed. Every room (except the bathroom) has a sea view. The sea laps at the front door and sooths you to sleep at night.

Relax with a warming dram by the real fireside, or curl up with a romantic DVD/video and gaze out to sea. You can often see Moray Firth dolphins, watch the local gannet colony diving 100 yds from the front door, or take exhilarating clifftop walks along the coast.

Be inspired by the sea - try and catch your dinner from the pier or buy fresh seafood from local suppliers and cook it yourself.

A perfect base for exploring this beautiful corner of the Scottish Highlands. Sunsets are a speciality. Whatever your pace, slow or dead slow, Crovie will occupy a special place in your heart.

Two steps from the sea. Parking close, waves closer. Not suitable for triskaidekaphobics.

Crovie and the surrounding area is beautiful and we loved staying in the vicinity. Hamish provided all the necessary information for an easy check-in. Unfortunately, the cottage had not been cleaned before we arrived and required extensive vacuuming to remove crumbs from the couches and dead bugs (sand hoppers) throughout the cottage. Sand hoppers continued to appear inside the cottage throughout our stay. The cottage has a coin operated electricity meter so guests pay for their (subsidized) power. This is not a huge issue but requires having pound coins and should be mentioned in the listing. Bed was extremely comfortable. The cottage is cozey but should be checked prior to each guests arrival. No wood was available for fire (there was coal but we've never lit a coal fire), and lighters for fire were all out of fuel so we were unable to have a fire on our first night (in Oct). Some light bulbs need to be replaced.Overall the cottage is well-appointed but rough. Best suited for local travellers during a warm weather visit. Not as suitable for fall visits or international travellers.

Had great fun and everything we needed to self cater in this lovely original cottage. The host is very helpful and answers questions promptly. Easy short walk to the next village for food and pub. Very close to small towns. Sea just outside the front of the property.

A quaint fisherman’s cottage, very well equipped, facing a beautiful harbour, but very cosy. The views and walks are splendid. No shop or cafe in Clovis, but just 15 minute walk to Eli’s cafe in Gardenstown. Definitely hope to return next summer. Only drawback is very steep narrow road to harbours and difficulty parking nearby.

Lovely quiet spot
Lovely quiet spot
Quaint cottage right on the sea front. Nice to hear the waves lapping in the night, and look out on the sea. Very friendly place, you can't walk along the street without saying hello to everyone sitting outside their houses. No amenities in the village but it's a 15 min walk to Gardenstown where there are some shops and a pub that does food. It wasn't clear on the listing that we needed to take towels - we did have some but would have brought more. We appreciated having salt, oil etc left in the house, and plenty of cooking equipment. Thanks Hamish for a lovely holiday.
