We were upgraded from a wooden wigwam to a Yurt. It was a wonderful experience.
We were very satisfied. It was a wonderfully quiet time and so relaxing.

Gorgeous location that was so quiet and peaceful. Our yurt sat right on the water beside a stream. Super relaxing and scenic. Upon arrival we had been given a card and a beautiful hamper, as I mentioned it was my partners birthday. We were given some shepards loch goodies, some food and drink and socks, was really a lovely touch. The duvet was super warm and soft which made it harder to leave lol. the nearby unmanned shop had everything you need for a decent price a minutes walk from each hut.
The shower also had good temperature and water pressure and plenty of towels were supplied and an extra big blanket for extra cold nights.
The hot tub is powered from a wood burner so it was fun to build the fire but my god does it get HOT! still gorgeous to sit in under the stars on a cold night.
There is a massive shop that does everything in the nearby town called the Spotty Bag Shop, would recommend taking the 20 minute trip from Shepards Loch to get all your supply needs! They do a banging breakfast in the cafe upstairs too!
the only things that were a bit of an inconvenience was the power cuts as it runs on water and solar panels, we couldn’t plug in our cooler without it cutting the power and our phones wouldn’t charge at all with little power. We had to use our phone torches for the first day so by the second unless you have plenty of power banks you’ll need backup torches. Outside beside the water and at the hot tub were so pitch black I think it’d really benefit from some solar powered garden string lights the continue the relaxing mood after it gets dark. We ended up leaving some battery powered fairy lights in the yurt to help when the power cuts or to complete the ambience with the candles.

A truly unique and inspiring stay!
This cozy retreat sits in the back woods of a farmer’s estate and gives a wonderful sense of small community and creative, artsy accommodation. It’s one of a kind — with an honesty shop, a relaxing sauna, a pond for swimming, and a welcoming community space where guests can gather and connect. The host was warm and helpful when I arrived, which made the experience even better.
The whole place feels a bit off the beaten path — in the best way — and I think everyone needs a little of that these days. It’s inspiring to see what they’ve built here. Every stay at Shepherd’s Loch Glamping is different, from the “hole in the ground” to the tent-style A-frames, boats, and even flying yurts. A truly special and unforgettable place!
Everything was great

Great place to stay for the weekend (and to celebrate my birthday!). Beds are really comfortable and the site has everything you need (including a shop for things you forget/extra firewood). The games hut was a nice surprise and the grounds are great for a walk around! The owner took us around the farm to visit some of the animals which was great!
We could have done with a sofa in the cabin. Theres two arm chairs in the bedroom that we moved to the livingroom but wasnt ideal. It might be nice to offer an option of heating the hot tub before our arrival as it takes a very long time.

The location was ideal and the glamping pods were fabulous and really unusual. We had a really sunny couple of days which also helped. There was lots of interesting and unusual things to do on site and only a short drive from the north coast. It's part of a farm so it was nice to see the animals and highland cows.
Can't think of anything, it was more than I expected so was really happy with it all.

Second visit this year and it didn't disappoint, staff were lovely and checked that everything was ok and would sort things out straight away if anything was wrong. Location was brilliant! it is out of the way but if you want a holiday with no distractions Shepherds Loch is the place. The facilities available are great, we went on bikes canoeing, swimming in the loch, fishing and made campfires every night. The place is on a farm which house highland cows, pigs and sheep which you can go see. The kids love Shepherds Loch and can't wait to come back next year.

It was easy to find and easy to drive to. It was a very welcoming family run business where you were allowed to help yourself to the open facilities that was available and were able to help yourself to produce on the farm by picking fresh. There was small play area that my little girl loved were she was able play and pass time at night.

The place was amazing, what a lovely couple days we had. The place is wonderful, the accommodation was nice, we had a hot tub which was fun. Walk around the place and you are met with cool little cabins, each one different. One of them is boat, we stayed in a bothy with hot tub. There are yurts which look cool, hobbit style houses underground, cabins on stilts. The place is amazing. There is a loch with loads of water activities, paddle boards, rowing boats, kayaks, can even fish with fishing roads on site provided. There is a bar with pool table, dart board, musical instruments. There is a little shop on site, a vegetable plot that can help yourself to, there is even a sauna.
there was a lot of flies but in the height of summer in Scotland what do I expect. Thankfully wasnt too much midgies

Everything about this stay exceeded expectations. We stayed in one of the Yurts called The Crannoch. The yurt itself was was spacious, in great condition, beds were comfy, bedding was nice and new. Wood burning stove in the middle of the yurt was amazing. Enough wood, kindling, fire lighters & matches were provided for to get us through the first day, then additional supplies could be bought from the onsite shop. Bring cash - it's an honesty system. Really loved everything about this place. Yurt was great, everything spotlessly clean and comfortable. We made use of the top pond for a bit of fishing and pulled out a half a dozen nice brown trout (catch and release by the way) and also did a bit of kayaking on the same waterway. Everything is provided so no need to bring your own. The whole site is really thoughtfully set up, plenty to do for the kids and adults alike. Recommend.
Nothing.

We spent 2 nights in Cranoch yurt which was simply an amazing adventure for the whole family, from the moment we arrived we enjoyed the off grid experience from the kayaking and swimming in the loch to fishing and wood fired hot tub it was an amazing place to connect with each other away from technology. Jamie was the perfect host and very welcoming. He went out of his way to give us a tour of the farm which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back (the youngest insisted the whole way home) There are so many wonderful things to see and do in and around the site.
The only thing that could be improved would be a thicker mattress on the single beds.

Great location, peace and quiet, rich wildlife (especially wildflowers, bees and birds), fresh produce and activities for the whole family. Owners are lovely people who appreciate the simple and most important joys of life.
Showering was tricky. Jamie, maybe get Woodpecker and F-F to start working on it 😂

Cosy and quirky. It had everything you need. Water was nice and hot too.
Nothing at all but perhaps a comfy chair in the living area or a bench outside to sit and enjoy the views.

Everything! This place is amazing. I would highly recommend it to all. It's in such a beautiful location and it's so peaceful and relaxing but also has plenty for kids and families to do. We will definitely be returning with the kids as we know they would love every minute of it. It's definitely a unique experience, one that I would highly recommend. The accommodation is beautiful and has everything you need. The owner, Jamie, is fantastic and will help straight away with anything you need.

The location and facilities were perfect and the accommodation is so different and unique and the was no noise, all you could hear was water and birds with the occasional cow or sheep!
The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was having to leave the wheelhouse to go to a different door for the toilet at 3 am in the rain but that’s the nature of that holiday and a very small price to pay for how great a time we had!

This place is blissful and the staff are lovely...we booked the sauna to ourselves...and had a lovely stay... we enjoyed the hot tub ....we loved the rustic wee outdoor toilet and kitchen, warm log fire and pretty surrounding, s thank you for your kindness x
Shop was well stocked but we ran short of bread and understand the difficulty in keeping fresh produce, but a couple of wee fresh loads....this is nothing in the big picture of enjoyment and lovely environment. Wee found a nice wee Morrisons in next village which had amazing butcher meat for bbq and lots of goodies....recommend the trip to the village x

The location was scenic and peaceful, and there were a good variety of activities to partake in. We particularly enjoyed kayaking on the pond and watching the sheep roam the fields from the lookout point. Jamie was very kind and helpful and made us feel welcome. Our site was a refurbished boat, which was unique.

Visited for my boyfriend birthday and having spoke to the staff before arrival we were surprised with a card and some wine in our pod, which was a very nice touch along with the balloons and banners!
Each pod is spaced out giving privacy.
The pond is very beautiful even the dog loved being out on the water!
Loved the tour of the farm from Jamie and getting involved in the daily farm activities.
Facilities are great and on site shop is so handy if you happen to forget anything!
Great location and very easy to find using maps.
Staff were amazing, we really enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to come again! Definitely going to be a yearly visit!
Loved everything! Wouldn't change a thing!

An experience - not just accommodation. Beautiful property, peaceful and quiet. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Loved the wood fired hot tub. Our grandson enjoyed digging up fresh potatoes from the communal vegetable garden for dinner. Good BBQ provided to enjoy on the deck. Adequately supplied kitchen equipment. Pack a good torch as the bathroom is just outside the tent. Lanterns were supplied as well. Have an umbrella handy so you don't get your PJs wet in the rain visiting the bathroom. Had a very restorative stay of three nights.
