    Ben Thal Retreat hotel is a comfortable budget choice for stays in Saigon. Like many hotels in HCMC it is located in an alley so nice and quiet at night but still walking distance to many of the tourist places. Nice breakfast included and served with a smile by the lovely hotel staff. For my review to be honest I have to mention that I noticed a few tiny insects (ants?) in the bathroom which was not a problem for me.

    We were a bit tight on funds so cancelled our stay at *** and booked something budget, as it was 3 night stop in HCMC. We were initially a bit apprehensive but thought we try our luck for a short stay. were so pleasantly surprised. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Most 5 star properties could learn a thing or two from these people about service. Local gudiance, food, everything was simply amazing. If I had to be picky, I would say that the way the bathrooms drain is a bit weird, the elevator is a bit small, and you have to walk a bit from where the grab drops you off. But I’m nitpicking. I have far more criticisms for probably every single place I’ve ever stayed. What absolutely amazing people, amazing service and location. Next time we go to HCMC, I know where I’m staying.

    We stayed here for a few nights and it was a great base to explore all the main sights in Ho Chi Minh City, as you could walk nearly everywhere. Despite the central location, the hotel is in a quiet alleyway protected from the noise of the main roads. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious, equipped with everything you need for a few nights, and the AC worked well.

    We had an excellent stay at this lovely hotel. Contrary to some reviews, the hotel is not outdated - it's clean, good facilities and the room is clean. Our suite room is big with a good shower and toilet facilities. The photos are truthful. Take note that the small balcony does not really give a full city view but views of the roofs of the neighbouring buildings. It didn't matter to us because we just wanted big windows with natural light. Location is very quiet in a small alley 2-3 minute walk from the main street. Near a park with an underground central market with food court. The young staff are very friendly with special mention to Tu. If your flight is later in the day, you can leave your luggage and they offer shower facilities to make you feel fresh before you go to the airport. I will highly recommend this hotel.
