About this house rental
This idyllic island is part of the Bay of Islands maritime park and is a short 7NM boat ride from either Russell or Paihia. The well appointed Lockwood home nestles amongst established trees right in the centre of this glorious sandy bay. With a short 20 metre walk down to the beach, this is a perfect retreat to get away from the daily grind. Explore the island on one of the many walks, check out the list of endangered bird species recently relocated on the island, listen to the Kiwi call at night, or just enjoy the peace and sunshine at this unique location. Access is by one of the commercial water taxis or else your own private boat. There is a wharf to unload your gear plus a dinghy available and a mooring to tie up on.
Please bring your own linen. We supply two rolls of toilet paper so if you think you might need more, please bring extra.
Special conditions:
Minimum booking of 3 nights required or 1 week over the peak of summer
Access is by water taxi or by own boat only.
Water restrictions may apply over summer.
Please leave property as you find it (clean before leaving and take rubbish) or you can choose the cleaning option ($120)

Food must be packed in a rodent-proof/ sealed container , please ensure that all your bags are zipped closed or sealed.
There are no rubbish bins on pest-free islands. Please remember to take all your rubbish off the island with you.

This was the first time we'd taken my parents and they absolutely loved it. It's such a special place for us as a family. Our magical hide away. Always love our stay and Andy is always a wonderful host.

This property and location are ABSOLUTELY BREATH TAKING. The Bach is simple, but all that you need for a relaxing beach/island holiday. The property managers are excellent, knowledgeable to history of the BOI area, and always helpful should anything unforeseen go wrong!The bay is picture perfect and the kids loved swimming and exploring the incredible wildlife found on land and in the water. It is a popular bay for all kind of water vessels that anchor in the bay or just pass by. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend.
