Cathedrals square supreme residence

Location was fabulous!

Doorknob on a bedroom wasn't attached. We told them it wasn't critical for us at the time.

Location was great. Walking distance to all historic and modern attractions, shops and restaurants.

This was a last minute reservation after we realized we wanted more time in Athens-center and the host was very accommodating and helpful with not only the reservation, but with information on parking and the apartment. I wanted to stay in an older place for our last few days, something with character that wasn't out of an Ikea catalog and this apartment did not disappoint! Huge ceilings! Giant windows (with excellent shades in the bedrooms)! Goofy layout that reminds you of the generations of changes and lives lived in those walls. The three bedrooms were large and the beds great. We appreciated the in-unit laundry and the TWO full bathrooms were a great treat! The large dining room and living room were great for us to have down-time as a family and the kitchen was well appointed for cooking. The location was also fantastic - it was quiet at night (church bells in the morning!) but really easy to walk to lively parts of town with great restaurants and shopping. We also loved walking up through the Plaka at night and seeing the Acropolis (and meeting all the cats on the way).

Not a negative (for us, at least), but a heads up to certain American travelers that this apartment is in a building with a lot of locals and it's really important that you treat your time in the apartment as respectful to the neighbors and as a quiet retreat - not a place to party or be tromping around at all hours.

Nice flat, but something was wrong: The whole apartment awfully smelled of fish. And it didn’t vanish although we opened all windows every day.
