FABULOUS!!
FABULOUS!!
Let me start by saying what wonderful and helpful people Daniela and her family are! The accommodations could not have been more perfect for our family (my husband, myself, and our 4 children), my mother-in-law, and my parents. So that was 9 people total and we never felt the least bit crowded. There was plenty of space for us to convene as a large group, but at the same time, we each had our own quiet, private space to retreat to when we needed. It was too cool for us to use the pool, but it was very tempting! We picked this location specifically because we could use it as a home base and explore Florence, Siena, and Assisi each in a separate day trip. It worked beautifully. We gained a true cultural experience by exploring the village of Ficulle, using our minimal knowledge of the Italian language, hand motions, and the friendly people's eager helpfulness. 100% recommend Casale Rotanselva!! *Note: We actually stayed here in 2013, but it wouldn't let me input that date.

Wonderful and Relaxing environment
Wonderful and Relaxing environment
Rotanseva is an “Agritourismo” in a bucolic environment with views of the countryside. My wife and I vacationed at Rotanselva for three weeks in late Spring and had a memorable, comfortable and relaxing time. The main house and cottage accommodated our family of 13 with ease and complete privacy for us, our adult children and grandchildren (ages 3 to 13). The swimming pool was cleaned daily by Roberto. The town of Ficulle was a picturesque walled medieval village having a marvelous restaurant with local food. However, be prepared to enjoy a leisurely dinner. Travel by train was easy. From the station, only 7 kilometers from Rotanselva, trains go directly into the center of both Florence and Rome. The Etruscan city of Orvieto (22,000 people, approximately 15 kilometers down the Autostrada) offered an underground necropolis dating back to the 6th century BC., as well as many wonderful shops, museums, and restaurants. Sienna was also easily accessed by rail; however, we drove to enjoy the countryside. All in all, we would recommend Rotanselva as a destination in Central Italy facilitating easy access to other historic Italian cities and sites. The only negative was the 1.8 kilometer State maintained dirt road from Ficulle to Rotanselva which needed extensive repair. We found the owners, Daniella and Roberto, genuinely gracious, easily accessible and dedicated to providing their “guests” a comfortable and friendly environment.

The dream come true

Magnificent, beautiful and big house! Owners decorated the house with great love and attention to small details. We felt right at home. The beautiful countryside around makes you forget about all and enjoy the life.We have visited Siena, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno. We have visited a winery, where local wine have tasted. The owners are very welcoming and kind people. We are very happy that met them. Daniela - the owner of the house - unique person. She knows many languages, so there were no problems with communication. It was a memorable evening organized by Daniela, when her son and his friend (both professional chefs) gave us master class on the Italian cuisine. It was fun and perfectly. Daniela, thanks a lot to you and your family for a wonderful holiday. Elena, Vadim, Oleg, Denis, Oksana, Sergey and Egor.

Lovely and huge house in beautiful countryside...we stayed here with nine people and far more space than we needed...good pool, clean, good facilities (table tennis pool table, well stocked kitchen - we made our own pasta! etc). Quite a long unpaved track from the town but not really a problem even in our rubbish rental cars. Owner extremely nice, helpful and easy-going...recommended a couple of bars in town and the pool was cleaned every morning. Taverna restaurant in Ficulle good, but funny opening times. Good agri-tourismo half way to Fabro too, but hard to find - there's a turning on the right that looks like a golf course. Only slight downside is that it is next to a working farm so quite noisy in the early morning - overall though a great place to stay, good views and relaxing holiday.
