Comfortable, spacious and clean room.
The homeless people living just outside. The corridors are air conditioned but the room aren’t. There was a fan though so all in all it was fine

Good central location. Rooms were clear and tidy.
Over sensitive fire alarm. There were warnings that it would go off if the bathroom doors were open and the shower running but the shower stayed very steamy so it’s not surprising it went off. Not once but twice. Staff seemed to know this was a major issue. Good to know the fire alarm works but it was too sensitive.
Rooms were also very hot.

Lovely stay in a lovely property. Very comfortable room and very convenient location too. Check in is over the road at The George but this was no issue whatsoever as the staff were incredibly pleasant & will also store a bag for you for the day if required. The hotel itself feels very safe & secure as you need your keycard to actually enter the building.

It was ideally located for a visit to Colchester castle.
It didn’t realise it was an unstaffed property and to get your key, reception and breakfast you had to walk up the road to a different hotel.
The shower was cold.
There were nasty stains on the floor and wall.
It was very noisy at night
