About this apartment rental
Oceanica Condo 806 is located in the center of the main part of Flamingo! A short walk to the White Sands of Flamingo Beach and local restaurants. Relax on your private balcony and enjoy watching the ocean and the sunset each evening. With luck, you might see a Humped Back Whale family as they migrate past our area. You will see native birds from the condo every day and it is fun to watch the squirrels playing in the trees!
Take a day trip to nearby Volcanos where you can have an action-packed day of fun. Visit spectacular waterfalls, water tube or white water river rafting, horseback riding, and Zip Line Canopy tours that are unique to our area of Costa Rica!
Spend a day exploring the various beaches in the area, they are all different and beautiful. Then in the evening if you are too tired to go out for dinner Condo 806's kitchen is equipped to cook at home so you can enjoy watching the sunset from your private balcony. Let the sound of the waves on Flamingo Beach relax you into our famous "Pura Vida" mode!
If you would like a relaxing day try the Palo Verde River Boat Tour! See White Faced Monkeys as well as our famous Howler Monkeys, a wide variety of river birds, different kinds of iguanas and lizards, and of course crocodiles! Don't worry the captain will keep a safe distance from them!!
From mid-December to after Easter Flamingo there are arts and crafts shows, live bands, and many other activities to enjoy in Flamingo! In February there is Marti Gras in the Sun which is 4 days of activities that are a lot of fun, including the crowning of the King and Queen and ending with a parade help your kids collect candy and prizes that the makeshift floats throw to the crowds! This brings a smile to everyone's face! Note some evening activities may not be suitable for small children.
Flamingo is a safe, family-oriented community but we still like to have fun! If there isn't anything going on during your stay and you want a "night out on the town" Tamarindo is only a 30-minute drive away. Being a louder community you can almost always find something going on in Tamarindo and return to the safe community of Flamingo!
Flamingo is also very well known for its incredible Sports Fishing! You can go out for a half-day and maybe catch dinner. If you want to go for the big fish go for a full day offshore and try your luck at catching a Marlin, Sailfish, or a delicious yellow-fin tuna. Any edible fish you catch will be cleaned and filleted for you by the boat crew so you can either take it back to the condo to cook yourself or to a local restaurant where they will cook and serve it for you along with sides such as rice, beans, salad, potatoes and/or a salad.
There are several restaurants in the area to choose from. Want dinner on the beach? Either Coco Loco or The Beach House are perfect choices! Both have excellent food. Want traditional Costa Rica food and the beach? Estero Azul and Pleamar are where to go. Other places to find traditional food are roadside "Sodas". A "Soda" is a small, family-run restaurant in Costa Rica. We can provide you with a list of other great restaurants and supermarkets in the area.
Flamingo has some of everything Costa Rica has to offer so come for a "Pura Vida" experience and enjoy Costa Rica to its fullest! Join us in Paradise!!!

Renee was always quick to communicate. Despite a little wrinkle with our booking being double booked with another group with a 4 day overlap she sorted it out pretty quickly.
The are we loved with a short walk to beach. We gained access to the north end of the beach which was fantastic. Best beach we have seen so far in CR.
The condo was well outfitted with everything you need. Communal pool was great and always clean as was the property. We used the group outside BBQ a couple times and it was great.
Probably the one concern was the mattress in the second bedroom was not that comfortable for my son and his wife. My son is a big fellow and he said he could feel the springs a bit.
Would come back again for sure.

You can’t get a better view of the ocean and sunsets! Renee, our host, was there to meet us upon arrival & answered any questions. The condo was nice and clean and the property was well kept with round the clock security. The pool area was attractive and clean, but they need to invest in more seating.
The unit was well stocked with paper and various cleaning products.
The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable, however the bed in the second bedroom requires a new mattress, and the condition of the pillows was deplorable.
While we were appreciative of the en-suite laundry facilities, the washer & dryer are on their last legs.
Of note, the building is quite a climb up the hill from the main road, and a definite challenge.
Overall, we were happy with the accommodations and had a great vacation, but the owner needs to invest some money with much needed bedding upgrades, and perhaps think about removing some personal pictures and notes-almost making one feel like they’re intruding.
