The home rests at the base of the Appalachian Trail and the Alleghany Trail with mountainous viewing and exceptional recreational activities inclusive of hiking, rapture viewing, white water rafting, fishing, historical landmarks within miles and most importantly peaceful natural beauty of nature's best. The home is 6 miles from Thomas Jefferson Forest, at the base of Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory, 25 miles from white water rafting facilities, 45 minutes from Virginia Tech University located in Blacksburg, Virginia. The home is also 45 minutes from The Greenbrier Resort, in White Sulfer Springs. Buffalo farms and local attractions are within miles of the home. The home is 70 years old, hardwood flooring and clean new carpeting, comfortable furnishings with all clean new bedding. Home offers 4 bedrooms, 2 queens and 2 standard, 2 sleeper sofas and has spacious room for child care equipment if needed. All dishes and cookware supplied, full size electric stove and refrigerator in addition to washer and dryer. The home offers 1 full acre of yard with a huge deck in rear facing mountains in view (great for entertaining ) and a covered front porch with swing and sitting availablility The house is a very comfortable cottage with propane heat units available year round in addition to a wood burning buck stove in front living room. Owners are nearby available to answer any other questions or needs. The home has 2 tvs with video dvd units .

Very much enjoyed this quaint cottage on a nice big yard. Enjoyed walking to the stream and watching wildlife right off the front porch and back deck. Wildflowers everywhere! Must note had absolutely no cell coverage which was a bit surprising, but also relaxing ;).

There were six of us and we were very comfortable. There was even air conditioning (rare in the area). Joy is very helpful and even supplied us with fresh eggs. The view from the deck is peaceful and fun to watch the geese come in each evening. The small front porch is perfect for waving to locals as they drive by. Pretty remote but Paint Bank (10 miles away) has essentials. Go to Hanging Rock and over to Cheese n Moor. Mostly relax and enjoy each other.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the country cottage. It was well stocked with all we needed for a comfortable stay with 4 children. Mrs. Joy was so nice and showed the kids their property and the farm animals. It is a gorgeous place in the country and we truly enjoyed our stay.
