Everything was top drawer It’s one of the best and we have booked to return in November but
No bathroom door locks work. Just a little attention to detail to get top mark.

Very well furnished and equipped. So quiet at night. Lovely touches like fresh eggs from their hens and monogrammed
huge white towels, as well as waffle cotton bathrobes. Plenty of games to play, DVDs to watch and comfy sofas. Loved the layout with bedrooms downstairs. We were visiting with another family group and they stayed a property just across the courtyard from us. Very rural setting yet deceptively close to villages and towns - only a 15min drive from Durham. All round great stay!
The stairs are steep and slippy. A second handrail would help, as would a runner.

Having the kitchen and living room all together in one big room upstairs was lovely. It meant that we could all chat and cook and socialise easily. I liked huge walk in shower linked two of the bedrooms. The owner warmly welcoming us with eggs and advice about twilight walks made us feel “ at home”. We took her advice and spotted the small owl hunting, and a hare speeding off into the barley field. Highly recommend.
The WI-FI kept dropping out, but I’m guessing that’s the price you pay for being out in beautiful countryside. My daughter found the bed a bit hard, but I like a firm mattress. There’s absolutely nothing else ( had to scratch my head to think of two things !)
