4 Bed 4 bath 4 star family town house 80 yds to beach, sky & wifi Recent refurb

The property was booked for a fishing party for three days so was really just a Bed for the nights as we were out most of the time. It was well positioned in the centre of Weymouth with two parking permits available for the immediate area (not always easy to find a spot). The property was totally fine for our requirements with several showers albeit they were a bit erratic when more than one were in use). Would book again.

Contact with the property owner was excellent and check-in/out was very easy. The location of the property is fabulous for exploring the local area and being in the heart of Weymouth itself but in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Sadly, for our group of 7 adults, the property was overall disappointing. It is generally rather tired, in need of TLC and smelled rather stale. More importantly though, it is in real need of a thorough deep clean throughout. The towels and bed linen were all past their best and the upstairs bathrooms are tiny. We self-cater regularly, individually and as a group, and all agreed this property (location aside) was overall disappointing.

Lovely big house only a couple of minutes walk to beach shops and bars/restaurants.

The was booked for a 60th birthday/ family get together, so we searched for a property that allowed for creature comforts whilst away - a home from home... the description sounded ideal, but the reality somewhat different... Upon arrival we noticed a smell from the lounge carpets which was in the same room as the dining table, so not pleasant... the Sky Tv only worked in the lounge tv, and so we contacted the host, who did respond quickly... however, the engineer arrived the next day and could only add limited Freeview to two other TVs, so the kitchen and master bedroom... this did not deliver the ability to have our own space in the bedrooms to watch evening programmes as expected... also, no BT Sport or Netflix, and only the downstairs TVs looked/ responded like Smart TVs as adverstised... the engineer told us the set up was poor and the Sky+HD box not built to feed the whole house... The 4 star rating was from July 2015 and not sure if this were reassessed now, that the host would get the same outcome... We were in touch with the host daily, mostly messaging, and whilst we got responses fairly quickly, only one thing was semi-resolved during our stay (getting limited Freeview in the master bedroom TV)... the other things, the carpet smell, kettle that leaked boilong water from the spout, shard of glass found on the bedroom carpet, and mainly the TV packages were acknowledged to be fixed next week... this, is great for future guests, but left us feeling short-changed... The host, on previous reviews, stated the guests should have contacted whilst on their breaks to allow things to be resolved, well there were multible opportunities for our feedback to be actioned, but nothing really achieved... The host accused me of simply angling for a full refund, which I found offensive... if anything, the location is ideal, but the property description did not match reality, as so we feel we were over-charged for what was delivered in our stay... Other minor things to look out for is scolding hot/ freezing cold showers (nothing in between), gas rings cut out on hob, only bath is on ground floor beyond kitchen (so not ideal for our grandson sleeping on the 2nd floor), neighbours smoking substances on the street, dining room table covered in plastic sheeting... The host has told us the kettle will be replaced, as will the carpet, and she maintains the TV packages are as per the description, but this was not the finding of a specialist TV engineer...

Ideal location, near the beach, harbour and town centre. We used this property as a base for 6 adults so didn't use the kitchen much but it was very well equipped with everything you might need and we had plenty of space in the property. Lots of toilets and showers! Small outside area but as I said you are in a great location so everything is easily in walking distance.

The location was perfect easy walking distance for everyone. The fact that everyone had their own room and shower was great.
