Enjoy the beach life like a local on one of the 2 decks. Sip your morning coffee on the front deck while you watch the sun rise over Surfside beach. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine while you bbq your favorite road kill on the back deck and watch the sunset. Island House is also just a short (2 block) walk to Surfside Drive where you'll find restaurants, bars, a fishing pier, a scenic park, a dog park, and even a library. We've tried to think of everything you might need -- before you even know you need it, like new Tempur-pedic mattresses, 1500 thread count linens, free super-fast Wifi, & USB charging ports throughout the house When you arrive, you can park right underneath your home-away-from-home. There's space for 2 cars in front and additional parking in back if needed. As you walk into your beach retreat you'll find an updated kitchen with granite counter tops and tile backsplash. It's fully stocked and ready for your stay. Also on the 1st floor there's a comfortable living area, dining area, a half bathroom, and a washer and dryer. The dining area seats 4 around the table plus 3 more seats at the kitchen peninsula. There is also a plush seating area on the front deck which seats 4/5. The living room has plenty of seating as well as streaming TV with hundreds of channels and WiFi. There are two decks for lounging. The front deck is covered and is a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. The back deck is open, overlooks the pool and contains a gas grill for all your bbq needs. Right behind the back deck is a fenced in yard with a pool. The pool is shared by only 4 units of the Island House so you never have to worry about crowds. The two bedrooms are located upstairs, one on either end with a hallway and bathroom in between. Each bedroom contains a queen bed with super comfortable memory foam mattresses, a dresser, & closets. We've also put several USB charging stations throughout the house. It's just a 60 second walk to beautiful Surfside Beach. Check the storage shed in the carport for beach chairs, boogie boards and other beach gear. Want even more of the "local" experience? We have a 4 person electric golf cart available to rent.

The townhome is only two blocks from the beach. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We would rent again. The only issue, and maybe it's because we are not familiar with streaming channels only, was hard told watch some of our favorite things, like the Carolina Panthers.

Property was just as described. Seconds from beach access, but enjoyed the fact it wasn’t right on the main road. Property had all convenient amenities one could think of during a vacation. Will definitely book again.

This is our 2nd time at Island House, we had stayed at unit D, we loved it so much that when we decided to vacation at Surfside Beach again we didn’t look anywhere else. Again we were very happy with the house, very cozy and comfortable. Bob and Melissa thought of everything that we might need. We will come back.

Family of 4- 2 small boys/We really enjoyed our vacation. The condo was nice and stocked with all we needed, but we would have preferred more privacy. Looking back we kind of feel sick about our trip. The owner made us feel like we didn’t respect his property over an umbrella that wasn’t worth bringing in from the beach. It is really heart breaking because we would’ve loved to revisit in that same unit over fall break and the same time next year. At the time of our stay, the property owner was in the unit beside us. At times, it felt like we were being watched. The unit is as advertised and shares a car port with the other 4 units. One night, we were rinsing off beach gear and the owner was definitely watching us as we were sorting what we had brought from home and what was from the condo. It made me feel like he thought we were going to steal something. He was walking all around the carport and looking in our designated shed…Not a feeling you want to get when you’ve paid $200+ a night. The beach gear left a lot to be desired. It didn’t really match the condo. The chairs were hard to fold and rusty. The umbrella and tool used to screw the umbrella in weren’t fit to be used. The tool was made from wood and had duct tape all around it and the part you use to drill into the ground was really rusty. The one day we did take it to the beach, it almost fell on one of my sons. The umbrella was broken from the minute we unfolded it. The pole looked like it had been broken in half and was glued and possibly taped together with white tape. The prongs that held the umbrella up we’re all broken on one side. It was quite windy that day and it kept flapping making it almost fold in half. It actually flew out of the ground at one point. I secured it, but my wife was afraid it was going to hit someone. By this point, she was frustrated and scorched from spending the day under the flimsy umbrella. Instead of lugging it, the crummy chairs, and the heavy wooden tool for the umbrella- I trashed it. Apparently, the owner was watching us even at the beach or saw it later and took it out of the trash. He charged us $40 for damaging his umbrella. On the phone he told us that he put it back in the shed after we left for the next guest. So why did he charge us $40 for damaging an umbrella and then saying over the phone nothing was wrong with it. We meant to let him know that it was broken, but we didn’t think it was a huge deal since it was in such bad shape.
