A scary start to my stay.

The location of the hotel was easy to get to, and the views surrounding the hotel were nice.

The communication with the hotel was very poor. My flight into Zurich was delayed, and so I notified the hotel, and the hotel staff failed to acknowledge my message. Due to the delayed flight, I arrived after the 10 pm closure of reception. This meant I found myself alone at night, with the possibility of not being able to stay in the hotel. I tried multiple times to call the out of hours number, and sent more messages through the app, all of which went unanswered. I ended up banging on the doors and windows, shouting for attention which woke up other guests. It took almost an hour for anyone from the hotel to attend. The man who works in the restaurant was also unwilling to help me because he told me he doesn't "work for the hotel". This is not acceptable by any standards.

In General I had a splendid stay. Butt again this is my hometown and I might be slightly biased.

As I grew up in this town/city I knew the Hotel under the old management/ original owner I had an idea what to expect. Great view on the balcony at the back, which brought back memories of the time I spent there with the boy scouts. During my stay on only met one member of staff who covered reception and also cleaning. She was exceptionally friendly and helpful. A very big thank you to her.

A minor dislike was that the restaurant not been opened yet. Due to reopen on 3rd September though. But considering the problems caused due to Covid and resulting general staff shortages in the hospitality in Switzerland this, for me is a very minor issue.

Adequate place if you need somewhere to stay and you have your own transportation.

Breakfast was acceptable but not remarkable. Some of the meats and cheeses looked a little tired. But the space was clean and the staff was pleasant.

No A/C or screens on the windows so be aware if you are visiting during a heatwave. Room was large and had large openable windows. The room was on the pricey side for it's amenities and location.

Clean, bright, freshly renovated and rooms have a balcony or a terrace. Plenty of hot water.

There is virtually no lounge area other than two settees at the reception. The reception itself was by a free voice-call , a room key was dropped ok but no other welcome info on getting about and the local facilities was available.

Relaxing, calm, enjoyable stay

Good size bedroom, comfortable bed and nice view to the green fields. Good breakfast. Spotlessly clean, and efficient and friendly staff.

It was a pity the restaurant wasn't open but we knew this when we booked.

Places de parc gratuites à disposition. Chambre simple mais très propre et tranquille. Excellent rapport qualité prix. Je suis arrivé l'hiver par temps froid et la chambre était déjà chauffée. Petit déjeuner correct.

Freundliche und unbürokratische Hilfe: Meine EC- und auch die Kreditkarte hatten ein Problem, die Zahlung am Terminal war nicht möglich. Die nette Dame am Empfang hat das einfach gelöst und mir die nächtliche Suche nach einem Geldautomaten erspart. Herzlichen Dank !
