La Dotta Apartments

Great location, walking distance 5min to city center. Easy check-in, received instructions one day prior to arrival. We stayed in the apartment with terrace, everything is the same as the photos. Clean, comfortable, spacious. There is everything you need. Even coffee pods for the Nespresso machine which was great to start your day with coffee on the terrace.

There was no shower gel/shampoo and the soap container in the bathroom wasn't re-filled so we were out of soap the second day. And also not enough toilet paper. But this is minor, everything else was perfect.

The location was superb. All amenities available which was great with small kids especially when having to prepare meals. Beds were very comfortable. Lucia was also very helpful and available for questions. She also left a great guide to Bologna which was a nice touch.

The apartment has many positive aspects. The location is excellent — only about 6 minutes on foot from Piazza Maggiore and very close to the main sightseeing areas, restaurants and shops. The apartment is spacious, with large rooms, light colours, a coffee machine with capsules, a refrigerator. The neighbourhood and the building felt safe, which was important for us. The host was responsive and tried to answer to our questions .

However, our check-in experience was very unpleasant, as the apartment had not been cleaned after the previous guests (dirty dippers, hairs, garbate and dirty dishes everywhere) we had to wait more than 3 hours before it was ready. To be fair, the host allowed us to check out later the next day, which we appreciated. There were also a few maintenance issues, such as non-working blinds in one bedroom and some doors/locks not closing properly. Also The apartment is near a bog street and it was a bit noisy for our preferences.
