Papillon Paradis Nishi-Shinjuku

We absolutely LOVED our stay here!! This was our first place we stayed when we arrived in Japan, and it honestly could not have been a better welcome. Amillie was the sweetest host and went above and beyond to make everything easy for us. Before we even arrived, she sent us step-by-step instructions (with pictures!) explaining exactly how to get there from the airport, which was SO helpful after a long day of traveling. She also gave us tons of great recommendations for things to do and places to check out! The location was amazing — only about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, so it was super easy to get around Tokyo. The place itself was adorable, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We spent pretty much all day every day exploring, so coming home to the super comfy beds and amazing AC was honestly the BEST feeling. Amillie was so kind and welcoming throughout our stay, and you can tell she really cares about making sure her guests have a great experience. We would 100% stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo. Such a perfect start to our Japan trip!! ❤️🇯🇵

Loved the quirkiness of the property and the washer/dryer was fantastic

The kids would have loved to have stayed in the upstairs nooks, which is why we booked the property, but the beds were no made up in there so they had to sleep downstairs which wasn’t as exciting for them

La localisation,.les 2 toilettes, les 2 douches, le calme et la propreté. Le logement est impeccable et dispose de la climatisation, indispensable en été.

Le code de la porte d’entrée envoyé à ma demande à 20h alors qu’il aurait dû m’être envoyé à 15h (retard d’envoi pour soit disant un problème de téléphone). Heureusement que nous ne sommes pas arrivés avant. À l’inverse, un "Kindle reminder" quelques heures avant notre départ pour nous demander de partir à 10h pétante. Un geste commercial nous proposant de rester jusqu'à 12h aurait été apprécié. De plus, la climatisation était arrêtée à notre arrivée, il faisait au moins 35 degrés dans l’appartement.

Aircon and having a place to stay! Washing machine being a dryer as well was a godsend, the 2 toilets and showers were cool! Having shampoo/conditioner and bodywash was a nice touch. I really appreciated that. Host was nice enough :-) I would advise to ask what your room /apartment will look like exactly ! I was expecting a few things that did not come with our stay.

No proper blanket with a top sheet at least, woke up multiple times a night due to having to change air con temperature (hot/cold/hot). Had to use a towel for extra warmth especially in the middle of the night. (Asked host for another blanket, she said it will cost extra as it is a vacation spot not a hotel). Door key fob, went flat. Didn't let us in on first try on a few occasions. Had to do it a few times to get in. They did come out out change battery but it all of a sudden worked again. Netflix you have to make sure you connect your own login. Pans not entirely non-stick so didn't help not having any butter/oil, no salt pepper. so Make sure you get all the necessities. Definitely was not worth the price we paid. Also a note saying to warn us of the neighbor! As he may come around if too much noise and to avoid a quarrel with him, make us on edge as I had a daughter with me. (he did not come over during our stay). Bring own milk coffee etc, as the ones my mum opened were spoiled. Think they were from previous stayers or freebies from coffee shops as they were from starbucks. (NO expiry dates on them).
