The place is picturesque, beautiful and interesting. The beds were comfortable and we had all that we needed inside our room, really nice.
The bathroom installations are in need of a renovation, the pipes are smelling on the sink and shower and the cleaning wasn't the best. The fact that they announce a "shuttle" service from the airport is really not nice since they apparently cannot cover it. We asked for a shuttle, prior and in the date we called as instructed but they just couldn't come leaving us to figure out ourselves. Also the same when we arrived, no one there, no signs or clues for what to do. We entered by ourselves, waiting for someone to tell us where to go or what to do but there was no one. We entered and climbed the stairs to find a room door open that we guessed was ours by the pictures, honestly this was really bad.

Fabulously quirky! Highly recommended
Fabulously quirky and unbeatable value for money. If you like eclectic and vintage aesthetics you will love this place. I stayed in the suite which was huge and very well appointed. If you can try and have a chat with the host. A fascinating incredibly warm man with some amazing stories. Highly recommended.

Very quirky hotel with connections to Tintin, sadly in need of some repairs and refitting
The host Philip is a very nice guy and we happened to share an interest in the Tintin graphic novel series by Herge. This house is one of the inspirations for the house in the books. The host made me welcome and was very accommodating.
Unfortunately the property really needs some work. Some of the worst plumbing I've seen outside England in the 1990's when the "shower in the corner of your room" was prevalent in B & B's. This place goes one better with an actual toilet in the corner of the bedroom, which I was warned didn't work. I could have happily put up with the quirky plumbing and copious bric-a-brac scattered around the place, but the clincher was the smell. Some sort of spicy, BO, rotten smell that was all pervading. It's a shame, as the host is a nice guy, but clearly a bit disorganised. Can't really recommend you try it until they can solve the odor issue.
